Adobe won't do mass layoffs, says its chief people officer

Unlike other Silicon Valley tech giants, Adobe will not do any mass layoffs this year, according to its Chief People Officer Gloria Chen. In an interview with Bloomberg Television, she said that "We are committed to not having company-wide layoffs."We're actually committed to continuing to grow here," Chen said, as Adobe opened its fourth office, based in San Jose.

According to the 2023 Digital Trends Report by Adobe, about 79 per cent of senior Asia Pacific (APAC) executives, including 92 per cent in India, say customer demand for content has significantly increased. "Customer demand for content-rich, personalised experiences has increased immensely," said Anindita Veluri, Marketing Director, Adobe India.
Adobe likely to make Photoshop free to everyone on web

According to The Verge, the company is now testing the free version in Canada, where users can access Photoshop on the web through a free Adobe account. The software major has described the service as "freemium" and eventually plans to gate off some features that will be exclusive to paying subscribers. Enough tools will be freely available to perform what Adobe considers to be Photoshop's core functions.

In a support document, Adobe said users can easily migrate to its Fresco app, which combines many Photoshop Sketch and Illustrator Draw drawing and painting tools, MacRumors reported. All projects created in Illustrator Draw and Photoshop Sketch will be automatically migrated to Fresco after a user signs in to the app with their Adobe ID email address.
