Despite being the youngest participant in the 2023 IPL player auction at the age of 15, Ghazanfar remained unsold in December 2022. However, he gained valuable experience representing Afghanistan in the recent U19 World Cup in South Africa before being picked up by KKR at his base price of INR 20 lakh.

In contrast, Prasidh Krishna's injury setback prompted his replacement, Keshav Maharaj, to step in for RR. Maharaj boasts an impressive international record, having taken 237 wickets across 27 T20Is, 44 ODIs, and 50 Tests. Additionally, his versatility extends to his batting, having contributed crucial runs in his 159 T20 appearances.

Having previously trained with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Maharaj's arrival adds depth to RR's squad. Kumar Sangakkara, RR's Director of Cricket, expressed his confidence in Maharaj's abilities and leadership both on and off the field, emphasizing his potential to enhance the team's performance.

Maharaj's entry into the IPL comes at a base price of INR 50 lakh, marking his inaugural stint in the tournament. Joining the RR squad in Jaipur, Maharaj is set to be available for selection in the team's upcoming clash against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on April 1st.
