The 25-year-old left-arm bowler has been a standout performer in the T20 World Cup, claiming 15 wickets in six matches at an impressive average of 11.86 and an economy rate of 7.41 runs per over.
Bumrah himself has been a force to reckon with, snatching 11 wickets in the same number of games while conceding a mere 4.08 runs per over, a rarity in T20 cricket. Arshdeep acknowledged Bumrah's influence, stating, "I guess a lot of credit goes to Jasprit because he puts a lot of pressure on the batters. He gives what, three or four runs in and over." This pressure, Arshdeep explained, often compels batsmen to take risks against him, creating ample opportunities for wickets.
Spinner Kuldeep Yadav also received praise from Arshdeep for consistently delivering crucial breakthroughs. With seven scalps to his name in just three matches of the tournament, Kuldeep has proven himself as a reliable wicket-taker for India. Arshdeep emphasized Kuldeep's importance, saying, "He is a really important player in our team and we are looking forward to take all from him and we hope he takes a lot of wickets."
Looking ahead to the semifinals against England, Arshdeep remained focused on the immediate celebrations and travel plans, saying, "Right now, I'm not expecting anything out of that game, just we'll have a little celebration after this game and a long travel day ahead. And then we'll see what conditions there are and how we can do our best there."
Reflecting on their recent victory over Australia, Arshdeep credited Kuldeep and Bumrah for making the crucial difference in the match. Australian bowler Josh Hazlewood concurred, acknowledging the impact of Kuldeep and Bumrah's bowling spell, which he felt tilted the game in India's favor.
