Mr Shah met the victims of Naxal violence from Chhattisgarh at his residence, where he assured them that all of their demands would be met and that Naxalism would be completely eradicated from the country by 2026.
Speaking on the occasion to the people affected by Naxal extremism, HM Shah spoke of the government's commitment to completely eradicating Naxalism and restoring peace in the regions still in the grip of the rebels.
Shah has assured victims that Naxalism would be ended completely in India by March 31, 2026.
He has expressed anguish that how people were made to suffer on the behest of Naxal violence and has been firm when he said that people who took weapons to make innocents dead, were rolling the stability of the society.
"All the pain of those affected by Naxalism has reached Delhi through you," he said, making an acknowledgement of all the hardships faced by the victims.
HM further added that Modi government is committed to get rid of this country of Naxalism at least as a belief which goes all against the mankind and humanity.
"Prime Minister Modi has been very clear that Naxalism and every thought behind such activities would be abolished, and peace will prevail," he said.
He also added that Naxalism was once ruling each and every corner of the country, and now the Centre had tamed it, and now only a few places are there, which are under the influence of Naxalism.
Also, he spoke a word of praise in respect of the victims and thanked them for taking his time.
He assured them that the Union government along with the Chhattisgarh government would soon come up with new schemes to better protect their rights and bring qualitative changes in their lives.
"These welfare schemes will soon be announced by both the Central as well as the state government, which will further ease your lives and support your development," he said.
Reiterating the previous proposals made by the Chhattisgarh government, HM Shah said, "schemes for aid under the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana' and for provision of toilets and electricity, have already been sanctioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi".
HM Shah assured that, addressing broader issues, facilities related to medical needs, employment, and other mandatory requirements of the victims of Naxal violence would be tackled immediately; even the departments concerned in this regard take prompt action.
He appealed to those still continuing with Naxal violence to lay down arms and take the path of peace after meeting concluded.
He again stated that the Central and Chhattisgarh governments were committed for betterment of the victims and were determined to eliminate Naxalism in every nook of the country.
