During an Instagram Live session on Wednesday (July 1, 2026), the "Main Vaapas Aaunga" star responded to several questions from fans. When asked if he planned to join the CJP's demonstration over alleged examination irregularities and the NEET paper-leak controversy, Mr. Diljit replied, "Keep me away from all this... Bro, I'm an artist. I'm no politician, I don't know what you think I am."

Punjabi actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh has made it clear that he has no role in the ongoing protest led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, stating that he sees himself as an artiste rather than a political figure.

He then referred to a well-known line from the Guru Granth Sahib — "Nanak dukhiya sab sansar, so sukhiya jis naam aadhaara", which means everyone in the world experiences sorrow, while those who place their faith in God find happiness.

"Look, everything can never be right. Everything in this world can never be right... So, those who are protesting, congratulations to them, and for whom the protest is happening, congratulations to them also, as I don't know anything," he added.

Dosanjh had previously voiced support for the farmers' protest against the contentious farm laws in 2020, before the legislation was eventually repealed by the Central government.

Earlier this year, in May, the actor also dismissed speculation about entering politics after a civil society group publicly urged him to take the political plunge.

"My job is to entertain people. I'm very happy in my field. Thank you so much," he had posted on X.

The CJP, which began as a digital satirical platform, has been staging its protest at Jantar Mantar since June 20. The group is demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper-leak controversy.

According to the outfit's founder, Abhijeet Dipke, the campaign will go beyond education-related concerns and will also focus on broader issues of accountability, including electoral matters such as the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
