Archie Singh is an Indian trans model who is all geared up to represent the nation at Miss International trans 2021 happening in Columbia. At some point of time in our life, we all face discrimination but Archie Singh has had it much worse. Being a 22-year-old trans woman, it was really hard for her to pursue a career as a model. She faced a lot of rejections not due to her looks or lack of skills but just because she was a trans woman. Defeating all the discrimination and criticism she managed to make her way to Miss International 2021.
Being a girl from a middle-class family it was not easy for her to make a place for herself in society for gender stereotypes. Often she was told that she can’t get the job just because she is not a 'real girl.'
Despite all the pressure from society, her family supported her in every possible way when she came out publicly as a trans woman at a young age of 17.'
In one of her interviews, she revealed that while she was pursuing a career as a model she was going through a gender reassignment surgery.
She took part and won the Miss Trans India, became show stoppers for many shows, and was even a brand ambassador for a brand.
This opportunity will not just empower her but the trans community because such steps will help them to get the respect and place they deserve in society.
