Japanese car manufacturing company Toyota has launched its all new fifth generation Prius Hybrid (PHEV) model. A hybrid car uses both a traditional petrol engine and an electric motor as power sources. They are not considered electric cars, because they have a petrol engine too. Toyota Prius was first put on sale in 1997 in Japan. Toyota has over 90 sales markets in the world including countries like United States and Japan. In 2008, Toyota's aim was to create a car that owners will continue to love and drive. Toyata had a 1 million share market that increased upto 2 million in September 2010 and 3 million in June 2013. Toyota Hybrid is the world's best selling Hybrid vehicle. The price of Toyota Prius starts at Rs 45.43 Lakh.

It has a lithium-ion battery that puts out 15 percent more energy. The engine grows from 1.8 liters to 2, and the horsepower rises from 121 to above 190.

The new Toyota Prius (electric + petrol) has 2.0-litre Plug-in Hybrid System that produces 223 PS output that can maintain fuel efficiency as its previous models. It also has 2.0 litre Series Parallel Hybrid System that delivers 193 Ps.

Talking about the exterior design, It has a sharp, and sleek design. It has large-diameter 19-inch wheels and this new model is based on the second-generation TNGA platform.

Looking at the interior design, The seat stitching finishes black tones with a fully-digital instrument cluster, digital IRVM, a front-view camera, and an advanced park feature with a remote function.

It is in a hammerhead shark design that has LED headlamps placed horizontally on the new 2023 model of Prius. It also come with a hatchback design

Toyota Prius comes with two versions of Series Parallel Hybrid (HEV) and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV). Its HEV version will be introduced globally in Japan and the United States this year, while the PHEV version will be available in spring 2023.

The main competitors of Toyota Prius are Volvo S60, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine and Audi A4.
