2. Jersey: A remake of south Indian blockbuster Jersey is going to hit the screen this year. Shahid Kapoor handling the lead role, the movie depicts the life of a cricketer who leaves his passion due to his family and steps in the field again just because of that family.

3. Maidaan: Based on the life of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, portrays the life of a football coach who built the castle of football in India. Starring Ajay Devgn and Priyanami in lead, the movie is directed and written by Amit Ravindrenath Sharma and produced by Boney Kapoor.

4. Shabhash Mithu: After Rashami Rocket, Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu will next be seen in another sports flick. Titled Shabhash Mithu the movie will capture the life of Indian female team captain and one of the greatest players of all time, Mithali Raj.

5. Toolsidas junior: An experimental movie, Toolsidas Junior portrays the life of a snooker player, and is set to star Sanjay Dutt and Rajiv Kapoor in important roles.

6. Jhund: Talking about the historic NGO called Slum Soccer, Jhund is based on the life of Vijay Barse. Amitabh Bachchan essays the role of the retired sports professor who motivates street children to form a football team.

7. Biopic on the life of Abhinav Bindra: Harshvardhan Kapoor is all set to play Abhinav Bindra in his biopic. After months of speculation, the Abhinav Bindra biopic has finally got a green signal from Harshvardhan. And the film is set to go on floors soon.

8. A biopic on Viswanathan Anand: Aanand L Rai, in December, announced that he will be directing a biopic on Indian chess grandmaster Viswanathan Anand. The cast and title of the film have not been disclosed yet. Release Date: To be announced.
