1. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Vidy Balan truly robbed the limelight with her performance as Avni but originally was not the first choice of the makers. As per the plan, Miss World turned Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai was approached for the movie. But she turned it down saying she has already been roped in a movie that will capture her playing a ghost.
2. Katrina Kaif: Not the lead role but Katrina was offered the side role of Radha in the movie. But she turned did because of her professional commitments. The role eventually went to Amesha Patel, who truly did justice to the role.
3. Shraddha Kapoor: For the sequence of the movie, Shraddha Kapoor who played a thrilling role in Stree was approached by the filmmakers. And even the actress showed her interest in playing the lead opposite Kartik Aryan but since she was preoccupied with other projects, she had to opt-out.
4. Sara Ali Khan: Sara Ali Khan collected wows for her chemistry with Kartik Aryan in Love Aaj Kal 2. Looking at that chemistry, the makers were keen to rope to Sara after Shraddha declined the role. But at that time, Sara was filming for the remake of Coolie No’1.
5. Rani Mukherjee: Not much is known about why Rani rejected the Priyadarshan film, but after Aishwarya, even she was offered the role of Avni, which she turned down.
