Forbes has released its 37th annual World's Billionaires List for 2023. According to the list, Bernard Arnault, Chairman of Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH), has risen to the top position and Elon Musk has slipped to the 2nd position. Among Indian business tycoons, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, has gained the 9th rank in the list, whereas Gautam Adani has slipped to the 24th rank in the world’s richest person list from his previous position as the 3rd richest man in the world. Ambani is the only Indian businessman to have made it to Forbes' Top 10 richest people list. Here are the Top 10 wealthiest people in the world according to Forbes:

1. Bernard Arnault (USD 211 Billion): The French fashion tycoon and chairman of Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH), which owns fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Tiffany & Co., and many more, has gained the title of the world’s richest person with a net worth of USD 211 billion. Previously, Arnault was at the 3rd position.

2. Elon Musk (USD 180 Billion): The American business magnate, co-founder and CEO of Tesla, owner of the social media platform Twitter, and CEO and Chairman of Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX), has slipped to the 2nd position with a net worth of USD 180 billion. Tesla's shares dropped by 50% after his announcement of acquiring Twitter. Previously, Musk was in the 1st position in the billionaires' list.

3. Jeff Bezos (USD 114 Billion): The founder, executive chairman, and former CEO of Amazon, an American technology company, has been named as the 3rd richest person in the world with a net worth of USD 114 billion. Last year, Bezos was at the 2nd position.

4. Lawrence Joseph Ellison (USD 107 Billion): Also known as Larry Ellison, the co-founder, executive chairman, chief technology officer, and former CEO of Oracle Corporation has been named as the 4th richest person in the world with a net worth of USD 107 billion. Last year, Ellison was at the 8th position.

5. Warren Edward Buffet (USD 106 billion): The Chief Executive Officer of the textile company Berkshire Hathaway has maintained his 5th position from last year with a net worth of USD 106 billion.

6. Bill Gates (USD 104 Billion): The co-founder of Microsoft, the world's largest software company, has slipped from the 4th to the 6th position in the world’s richest person list with a net worth of USD 104 billion.

7. Michael Bloomberg (USD 94.5 Billion): The American businessman, politician, co-founder, and CEO of Bloomberg L.P., a privately-held financial, software, data, and media company, is in the 7th position with a net worth of USD 94.5 billion. Last year, Bloomberg was at the 12th position.

8. Carlos Slim Helu & family (USD 93 Billion): The Mexican business magnate and telecom tycoon, Chairman of Telmex, América Móvil, and owner of Grupo Carso, has risen from the 13th to the 8th position with a net worth of USD 93 billion.

9. Mukesh Ambani (USD 83.4 Billion): The Indian billionaire, Chairman, and MD of Reliance Industries has been named as the 9th richest person in the world with a net worth of USD 83.4 billion. Ambani is the only Indian businessman who has gained a position in the Top 10 rankings, and he has also been named the world’s richest sports owner in 2023.

10. Steve Ballmer (USD 80.7 Billion): The owner of Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) has slipped from the 9th to 10th position with a net worth of USD 80.7 billion.

24. Gautam Adani (USD 47.2 Billion): The Indian businessman, founder, and chairman of Adani Group has slipped down to the 24th position in the Forbes billionaires list. In January, Adani was the world’s 3rd richest person with a net worth of USD 126 billion.
