The year 2022 is finally here and it's time to snuggle in our blankets and enjoy some hot popcorns as winters have got chilling and omicron is forcing us to stay home. With the orders of staying at home, the fear of being fernweh is coming back. But we don’t have to worry as the entertainment industry and OTT platforms are all set to entertain us with a wide variety of content. The content includes the next installment of some fan-favorite series and some long-awaited movies that got postponed last year. Here we bring you the list of top 10 movies and series releasing in January that will help us stay at home:
1. Euphoria 2:Based on the life of a high school gang trapped in drugs, crime, and sex, Euphoria is coming back with its second season. With the same name and same lead star cast, the series is scheduled to release on Netflix on January 10, 2022.
2. Radhe Shyam: Helmedby Radhe Krishna Kumar, a historic drama capturing Tollywood star Prabhas and Pooja Hedge in lead, Radhe Shyam is all set to hit the screens on 14 January 2022. The movie revolves around a man who can see the future and falls madly in love with a girl who is going to die soon.
3. Human: With a star studded star cast including Shefali Shah, Kirti Kulhari, Ram Kapoor, Vishal Jethwa and Seema Biswas, Human is a thrill packed series directed by Mozez Singh and Vipul Amrutlal Shah. Revolving around the unwrapping of a pharma drug case, the movie will see its release on Disney+Hotstar on January 14th.
4. Yeh Kali Kali Akhein: Starring Tahir Raj Bhasin, Shweta Tripathi Sharma and Anchal Singh in pivotal roles, the eight episode series is about a guy who falls in love with a girl with a strong political background. This series is all set to launch on Netflix on January 14th.
5. Archive 81: This upcoming supernatural horror series follows an archivist, hired to restore a bunch of damaged tapes, who finds himself reconstructing the work of a prominent documentary filmmaker and her gripping investigation of a demonic cult. This series is loosely inspired by the popular podcast of the same title. Directed by Rebecca Thomas, the mind-bending series features Mamoudou Athie and Dina Shihabi in the lead roles.
6. Hotel Transylvania: Transformania: Hotel Transylvania has been one of the most celebrated animation franchise in Hollywood and the hype around its fourth installment is just incomparable. Featuring the voices of Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kathryn Hahn, Jim Gaffigan, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon and David Spade, the movie is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on January 14th.
7. Gehraiyaan: Directed by Shakun Batra, this drama is about the different stages of love in a relationship and human emotions. Starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor in prominent roles, the movie is scheduled to release on Amazon on January 25th.
8. Prithvi Raj: Based on the life of long-lived brave Rajput King, Prithvi Raj Chauhan, this historic drama stars Akshay Kumar in lead and introduces Manushi Chillar. Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, this movie also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana and Sakshi Tanwar in supporting roles. The movie is slated to release in theatres on January 21st.
9. Ozark season 4: Featuring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney in the lead roles, this upcoming crime drama series is created by Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams. The show centers around a financial advisor, who launders money to appease a drug lord. The fourth and final season, which will have a total of 14 episodes, is set to premiere on Netflix on January 20th.
10. Neymar- The perfect chaos: Based on the life of the Brazilian professional footballer, Neymar Da Silva Santos Júnior, this upcoming miniseries shares the highs and lows of his personal and professional life. This limited series also features several interviews with seasoned footballers like Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and David Beckham. The series will stream on Netflix on January 25th.
