Global Firepower (GF) has come up with its latest report ranking 140 modern military powers based on their conventional war-fighting capabilities across land, sea and water using conventional (not nuclear) means. The ranking is derived by thorough and exhaustive consideration of over 50 individual factors across areas such as equipment, manpower, budget/finances, natural resources, logistical capabilities, and geography to help derive the balance of power in today’s tense and fraught geopolitical milieu. The rankings are, hence, based on cumulative “PowerIndex” or “PwrIndx”. The compiled data is based on resources available in the public domain. It is important to note that no country can achieve the perfect score (PwrIndx: 0.0000). The smaller the index, the more powerful the country’s military.
