They say destiny gives us all a lemon but it depends on us whether we make lemonade out of it or just throw it away. The same has happened with a number of Bollywood actors in past. Blockbuster movies came to them by themselves but they turned it down and probably regrated them later. Some of them not just turned down their own success but also paved the way to stardom for many other actors. 1. Ranbir Kapoor (Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara): When ZNMD was in the sketching period, the face of Ranbir Kapoor was the right one for the role of Arjun in Zoya Akhtar’s mind. And implanting the plan, the director even approached him but he turned it down because of his personal reason (or the co-star) and the role eventually went in the hands of Hrithik Roshan.
2. Shah Rukh Khan (Munna Bhai MBBS): We say it is nice that SRK turned down Munna Bhai MBBS as we can’t see him going all tapori. Yes you heard it right, not Sanjay Dutt but SRK was the first choices of the makers for Munna Bhai MBBS. But he turned it down saying he can’t fit in the role.
3. Alia Bhatt (Saaho): Made on one of the biggest budget of the industry, Saaho was supposed to cast Alia Bhatt in the lead role. But she decided to turn it down as she felt that the lead of the movie is getting less screen time. And then it went to Shraddha Kapoor.
4. Kareena Kapoor Khan (Ram Leela): If Sanjay Leela Bhansali has got his ideal cast we would have never found cute couple of Ranveer Singha and Deepika Padukone. Originally Bhansali approached Kareena Kapoor Khan to play the role of Leela in Ram Leela.
5. Kangana Ranaut (The Dirty Pictures): A bold movie needs a bold actress keeping this in mind, the movie makers made Kangana Ranaut their first choice for the role of silk Smitha in The Dirty Picture. But the actress turned it down as at that time she was busy with filming Tanu Weds Manu.
6. Ajay Devgn (Veer Zara): The whole movie would have been different if the SRK and Preity Zinta pair was in the lead. And it was about to happen as the makers of the movie approached Ajay Devgn and Kajol for playing the lead in the movie.
7. Twinkle Khanna Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: We all know this one. Karan Johar always wanted his best friend to play Tina, which also happens to be Twinkle’s nickname. But guess what? Miss Funnybones rejected the film because she thought the script was sh*t! Twinkle’s rejection made Rani Mukerji an overnight star and she doesn’t mind taking credit for that. 8. Akshay Kumar (Bhaag Milkha Bhaag): Akshay Kumar is one of the actors in the industry who is known for nurturing biopics. He was about to get another biopic of the flying jatt Milkha Singh, But He rejected the offer because he was busy with Kambakkht Ishq and Tees Maar Khan.
9. Salman Khan (Chak De India): “When I was offered Chak De, my image was totally different…”, the actor told DNA, “That was not my genre at that point of time.
