In April 2021, Maruti Suzuki’s Wagon R finished on top as the best-selling passenger car in the Indian market. The tall-riding hatchback posted a total of 18,656 units as it outsold its sibling Swift by a slender margin. In recent months, we have seen Swift ending up on top of the volume charts but it did not turn out to be the case in April. Nevertheless, it is still going strong as 18,316 dispatches were made in April 2021. The Baleno premium hatchback competes against Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz and last month, 16,384 units were registered. The Dzire compact sedan has long been the best-selling sedan in India and the scenario did not change last time out as 14,073 units were sold. 3. Maruti Suzuki Alto sold 17,303 units. The price starts at ₹ 3.00 Lakh and goes up to ₹ 4.61 Lakh. The price of the Petrol version for Alto ranges between ₹ 3.00 Lakh - ₹ 4.16 Lakh and the price of the CNG version for Alto ranges between ₹ 4.56 Lakh - ₹ 4.61 Lakh.

4. Maruti Baleno sold 16,384 units. Another hatchback in this segment starts at Rs. 5.98 Lakh and goes up to Rs. 9.30 Lakh. Maruti Baleno is offered in 9 variants - the base model of Baleno is Sigma and the top variant Maruti Baleno Alpha CVT which comes at a price tag of Rs. 9.30 Lakh.

5. Maruti Dzire sold 14,073 units. The first sedan on the list, the versatile car starts at Rs. 5.98 Lakh and goes up to Rs. 9.02 Lakh. It is offered in 7 variants - the base model of Dzire is LXI and the top variant Maruti Swift Dzire ZXI Plus AT which comes at a price tag of Rs. 9.02 Lakh.

6. Hyundai Creta sold 12,463 units. First SUV in this list, its price starts at ₹ 10.00 Lakh and goes up to ₹ 17.68 Lakh. The price of Petrol version for Creta ranges between ₹ 10.00 Lakh - ₹ 17.68 Lakh and the price of Diesel version for Creta ranges between ₹ 10.51 Lakh - ₹ 17.63 Lakh.

7. Hyundai Grand i10 Nios sold a total of 11,540 units. The third hatchback in the list, the price starts at ₹ 5.24 Lakh and goes up to ₹ 8.45 Lakh.
