In the showbiz world of Bollywood, which churns a ton of movies every year, the idea of producing movies is simple. If a movie does well and the makers see a golden egg-laying hen in it, they use it to the fullest and come up with sequel and prequel movies just like Hollywood does. But in the race of releasing movies and earning big on the box-office, Bollywood filmmakers sometimes miss a few important elements and that are story, cast, and cinematography. In past, while we have seen Bollywood sequel movies breaking the box-office records, there have been sequel movies left us thinking that why it was produced in the first place. Here we take a look at the top 10 Bollywood sequel movies that ruined the legacy of original movies:

1. Race 3: We were truly impressed by the acting performance of Saif Ali Khan in Race 1 and Race 2, but Race 3. There is no hesitation in saying that Race 3 was truly disappointed. The audience was annoyed with the story and acting of the cast that it was one of the lowest-rated Bollywood movies at a time.

2. Raaz reboot: Who isn’t afraid of the spooky trilogy of Raaz, but when it comes to the fourth installment of the franchise we doubted makers' choices. As always Emraan Hashmi’s encounters with the supernatural were infused with crucial jump scare moments but this time this story didn’t work, as the audience was already bored by watching the same thing.

3. Golmaal 4: Directed by Rohit Shetty, Golmaal Again stars Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Khemu, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Parineeti Chopra, and Tabu in the lead roles. Even after having such a fantastic cast, they failed to save the drowning plotline of the movie.

4. Dabbang 3: When the makers saw the declining number in the second part of the story why did they produce 3rd one. This time around, Chulbul Pandey’s storyline shuttles between past and present. But this experiment failed miserably and took the movie the flop mark.

5. Hathyar: Vaastav’, an admired movie in the history of Bollywood had Hathyar as its second installation. Sanjay Dutt, Sharad Kapoor, and Shilpa Shetty were in the main roles. It starts from the plot where Vaastav ended. The movie did not impress the audience. Thus, the movie was disappointing. The presence of too many characters confused the audience.

6. Double Dhamaal: Unlike the original movie, Double Dhamaal was the overdosed version of dark and slapstick comedy that the audience didn’t like. The story had the same star cast in lead roles but the double meaning jokes truly ruined the essence of the movie.

7. Yamala Pagla Deewana 3: The first part was alright but the second one failed miserably. That should have been enough of a signal to the 3 Deols not to make the 3rd film.

8. Student of the year 2: Some buffs liked it while some disliked it to no end but the critics made it clear that this movie was the failed version of SOTY. Just like the OG movie, KJ launched Tara and Ananya with this movie but forgot to work on the script.

9. Once Upon a time in Mumbai again: “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai” proved to be a huge hit which had Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, in main roles. However, its sequel was never able to touch the audience in the way its prequel did. The cast has been replaced by, Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha. Unlike its prequel, the movie failed to claim viewers’ appreciation and crashed at the box office.

10. Bheja fry 2: Bheja Fry made Vinay Pathak an overnight star! When its a sequel was announced, everyone was certain it would scale the same heights. But sadly, it was panned by everyone.
