At last, it is the end that really matters. A story is like a cake that is built layer by layer and flavor by flavor and the ending or climax of it is that decoration that makes it better than the other. And Bollywood has successfully learned the value of a great ending. Bollywood has delivered some of the most vital climaxes in the history of cinematography. While some movies left us with the question ‘what’s going to happen next’ some made us go ‘WHAT THE HOLY HELL”. But they all have one thing in common and that is the suspense that keeps us stick to our seat. Today, we bring you the top 10 Bollywood movies with otherworldly climax sequence:

1. Devdas: Devdas was a heartbreaking story but it was the ending of the movie that broke our hearts. The way Dev walks to the gate of Paro’s house and waits for her till his last breath is can’t be described in words. Apart from the plotline, the cinematography of the scene made it look perfect.

2. Queen: The role of Kangana Ranaut in Queen, makes it a cult classic. The movie which was filled with life lessons gave another lesson in the end and which was never pick the garbage you threw once. And Rani did the same, she was rejected with no flair or attitude and her walk to a better life deserves applause every single time.

3. Drishyam: Drishyam is that one movie that twisted our minds in every possible way but the climax of the movie was something we never expected. The whole movie was about Tabu finding her son Sam’s body. But at the end after all the hustle and bustle she gets to know that her son was buried under the new police station that was under construction.

4. Masaan: Masaan ends with a new beginning. A kind that makes you think Richa Chadha's Devi and Vicky Kaushal's Deepak suffered immensely only to end up together on a boat swirling away in Ganga. The ending with Deepak spotting Devi crying and placing a bottle of water without uttering a word hits home. The immediate shot after is of the two strikings a conversation as the sun sets or rises? We'll never know.

5. Kartik Calling Kartik: Don’t you all think the plot of Kartik Calling Kartik was Kartik getting calls from some dangerous guy but what climax got was something we never expected. In the end, Dr. Kapadia reveals to Shonali that it was Kartik’s alter ego who was calling him all the time as Kartik suffers from a melt disorder called, schizophrenia.

6. A Wednesday: A Wednesday is one of those cinematic gems that Bollywood should not only be proud of but actually show off every chance it gets. Naseeruddin Shah’s final act of revelation and the choice of leaving the character unnamed, depriving him of any religion associated with his name-tag and let's not forget, the hacker trying to figure out Shah's location being so impressed after his speech that he pretends to conceal the information from Anupam Kher- absolutely brilliant because it showcases the truest form of human nature.

7. The Lunchbox: The ending of a cute little love story was not that complex and twisted. But it left us with a question that we all think love deserves a second chance and if it is true what would Irrfan's Saajan’s life would have been if he would have gotten the love from Nimrat Kaur’s Ila.

8. Andhadhun: In the very last scene of this critically acclaimed film, a blind Ayushmann Khurrana kicks a can out of his way with his support stick that it hits you that he could see. But, at what point did his vision return or was he ever blind? It's open to interpretation but these questions continue to haunt us even today.

9. Haider: The dialogue at the end ‘ inteqaam se sirf inteqaam paida hota hai’. If you have read or heard the story of Shakespeare's Hamlet, the ending of Haider is not a surprise for you. The way Haider chooses to leave her uncle begging for life in snow and giving him another chance was the real mind-twisting end.

10. Kapoor and Sons: You might be wondering why such a predictable ending to a family drama made it to our list but films providing a hopeful ending are paramount too. The only wish of Rishi Kapoor was to have a family portrait and somehow they managed to achieve that. But the bigger takeaway has to be how forgiveness trumps even love in families. We need to take note of this and act upon it in our own families too.
