5. Kabul Express: The film was based on director Kabir Khan’s own experiences as a documentary filmmaker. It was shot on location in Afghanistan and chronicles the misadventures of two rookie journalists from India on their first tour of Afghanistan. Suhel Khan (John Abraham) and Jai Kapoor (Arshad Warsi) are Indian journalists who are sent into Afghanistan to create a report on what life is like in the country following the US Invasion of the country.

6. Noor: Based on the novel named Karachi, You're Killing Me! Noor casts Sonakshi Sinha in lead. The movie speaks about a young and passionate journalist who investigates a case where a doctor kills people and trades their internal body parts.

7. Peepli Live: Peepli Live uncovers the truth of the world of television news, and how they end up manipulating any given situation, just to earn high TRP. This movie puts the lives of farmers in the limelight. Two brothers discuss and find a way to get away with the loan lingering on their heads, and the best solution that they come up with is committing suicide. This, in turn, becomes national news, and the farmer, out of fear, takes his own life.

8. Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani: The comedy-thriller starring Juhi Chawla and Shah Rukh Khan in lead, talks about two ace reports who belong to two rival channels. Starting with great humor the movie makes the audience bite their nails. Drawing attention to the corrupt system, the reporter reveals the rot in the political circle. This movie is definitely a must-watch, for its riveting storyline.

9. Rann: The film is about a television news channel run by Vijay Harshvardhan Malik (played by Amitabh Bachchan) that swears by its ethical code of relaying only truth. The channel begins to lose TRP because of its focus on telling the truth at a time when other channels were focused on sensationalism. Vijay Malik's ambitious son tries to win the TRP war by stooping to an all-new low.

10. Madras Café: The film is set during the 1980s and 1990s of Srilanka and shows us the political situation that was prevalent during those times. The film takes us on a journey of events witnessed by an Indian Soldier that led to the plot designed to assassinate the then Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi. A war correspondent (Nargis Fakhri) also plays a prominent role in aiding the soldier (John Abraham) to uncover the plot that was made to assassinate the PM.
