On Saturday midnight, the international superstar Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas announced the news of embracing parenthood. They revealed that they have welcomed a baby via surrogacy. And this was not the first time when a Bollywood celeb welcomed a baby via surrogacy. We have witnessed superstars like Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar doing the same. For those who don’t know about Surrogacy, it is a legal arrangement whereby a woman agrees to bear a child for another person or people, who will become the child's parent(s) after birth. Here we take a look at the top Bollywood celebrities who had kids via surrogacy:
1. Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas: Priyanka has been always vocal about her family planning and having kids. Making an identical statement on Saturday midnight, the couple revealed that they have welcomed a baby via surrogacy and now a report by Daily Mail revealed that the couple have become proud parents of a baby girl.
2. Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan: Bollywood king khan Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan were in their 40s and already had two kids when they decided to have a third one. Looking at their life and health, they opted for surrogacy. The couple finally welcomed their baby boy AbRam in May 2013 via surrogacy.
3. Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber: Since the actress made her Bollywood debut she has been vocal about her infertility struggles. Because of that she adopted a baby girl named Nisha with husband Daniel Weber. Later few years, the couple welcomed twins Noah and Asher via surrogacy in 2018.
4. Karan Johar: If you take a look at the Instagram feed of Karan Johar, you will just find cute and adorable pictures of his kids. The director and producer become the proud parent of twins Roohi and Yash, via surrogacy on 17 February 2017.
5. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao: Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao who announced their divorce last year went down the surrogacy lane when they decided to expand their family. The ex couple welcomed their son Azad in 2011 via surrogacy.
6. Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra: After having a few miscarraiges and failed adoption attempts, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra decided to have kid via surrogacy. She and her husband Raj Kundra already had a son and announced the arrival of their baby girl, Samisha in 2020.
7. Sohail Khan and Seema Khan: Sohail Khan and his wife Seema Khan decided to have another child 10 years after the birth of their son Nirvaan. They tried various methods but were unsuccessful. The couple finally welcomed their second son in 2011, after almost 13 years of marriage.
8. Preity Zinta and Gene Goodenough: The Bollywood actress Preity Zinta and husband Gene Goodenough, last year announced the arrival of their twins Gia and Jai via surrogacy. Revealing the news on their social media the couple said they are going to be good enough parents.
9. Ekta Kapoor: Ekta Kapoor said in an interview that she had stored her eggs when she was 36. She joined her brother Tusshar Kapoor as a single parent by welcoming a son, Ravie through surrogacy in 2019.
10. Tushar Kapoor: Tusshar Kapoor said in an interview that it was when he became 35 years old, that he decided to become a father. He became a single father to his son Laksshya in 2016, via surrogacy.
