1. Deepika Padukone (Padmaavat): Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat fell in the mud of trouble when Karni Sena demanded a ban on the movie for distorting history and showing Rajput in a bad light. Even Deepika Padukone received some death threats for playing Rani Padmaavat. After that, some changes over made in the movie, and even the midriff of Deepika was covered.

2. Vidya Balan (The Dirty Pictures): Vidya Balan made a stamp with her acting in ‘The Dirty Picture’ a movie based on the life of Silk Smitha life. But some people didn’t liked the movie and gave hate comments to the actress. A city court even ordered police to book Vidya for posing in indecent pictures.

3. Aamir Khan (PK): There is no denying PK is an eye-opening movie. But controversies follow when it talks about religion. For his role of PK, Aamir Khan received hate for "maligning Hinduism" and hurting the sentiments of the audience.

4. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (Jodha Akbar): The Karni Sena, asked court to ban Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar from presenting falls facts. Then went forward to bring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on the bad light who played the role of Jodha Bai, who married to Salim alias Jehangir.

5. Kangana Ranaut (Thalaivi): The makers of the biopic based on the life of the former Tamil Nadu chief minister, J Jayalalithaa, was issued a notice by the Madras High Court. Deepa Jayakumar, who claimed that she was a legal heir of the late AIADMK supremo, seeked to restrain the release of the film. She claimed that the makers might present their "own version" of the Jayalalithaa played by Kangana Ranaut and that might affect the politician’s privacy.

6. Shahid Kapoor (Kabir Singh): The Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster cast Shahid Kapoor in lead. The actor received hatred from the audience for playing Kabir Singh who was toxic, aggressive, and abusive. The audience claimed a protagonist should be subtle and promote the right things, not like him who promotes household violence.

7. Anupam Kher (The accidental Prime Minister): The film is based on the eponymous book by Singh's media advisor Sanjaya Baru and has Anupam Kher essaying the role of former Indian PM Manmohan Singh. After the trailer was released, Maharashtra State Youth Congress demanded pre-screening and raised an objection citing “incorrect presentation of the facts” related to Manmohan Singh and the Congress party.

8. Kartik Aaryan (Pati Patni Aur Woh); Kartik Aaryan drew some fleck on social media when he shared the trailer of his movie Pati Patni Aur Who, that shed light on his monologue about marital Rape. After witnessing the backlash, the makers edited it out.

9. Plabita Borthakur (Lipstick Under My Burkha): A group of Muslim leaders in Bhopal filed a resolution advocating the boycott of Lipstick Under My Burkha, and alleged that it hurts the community’s religious sentiments. Plabita Borthakur essays the role of a burkha clad college student in the film.

10. Amitabh Bachchan (Nishabd): Amitabh Bachchan starrer showcased the sexual chemistry between a middle-aged man and an underaged girl. The former romancing a much younger girl in Nishabd evoked public outrage for allegedly depicting a scenario that’s against "Indian values”.
