Recently, after busting a cruise ship traveling from Mumbai to Goa, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) put Shahrukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan behind the bars. This is not the first time when a renowned Bollywood actor has been arrested by the NCB in the case regarding drug bust and the history of Bollywood with drugs is not a new flanged thing. Bollywood actors and actresses have been under NCB’s scanner for quite some time now after the demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. In the last few months, many Bollywood actors and actresses have been questioned by the NCB. Here is the list of the top 10 Bollywood actors who have been indulged in cases related to drugs.
1. Sanjay Dutt: The history of Sanjay Dutt with drugs is known to all and he himself has been very vocal about his drug addiction. Not just in interviews, he has mentioned his drug addiction in his biopic. Even before the 1993 bomb blast case, Dutt spent five months in jail in 1982 after he was caught in the possession of illegal substances.
2. Fardeen Khan: The actor enjoyed fame in Bollywood for a very little and after a while vanished from the grid of the showbiz town. This became a reason behind his consumption of drugs. Fardeen was arrested in a drug case in 2001 as 9gm of cocaine was found on him. In an interview, he revealed that he had tried every kind of drug available at that point in time.
3. Rhea Chakraborty: The demise of SSR not just shocked the whole nation but also turned the Bollywood industry upside down. During the investigation of his death, many links of actors with drug peddlers unfolded. The one name that came out was Rhea Chakraborty. Rhea Chakraborty was arrested and later granted bail last year in a drug case related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
4. Bharti Singh: Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiyan were also called in for questioning this year by the NCB as they recovered drugs from their residence. During the session of questioning the couple confessed that they used to consume cannabis and NCB eves found 86.5 gms of ganja from their place.
5. KJo's Famous Party: Apart from all the other celebs, Karan Johar's party also came under NCB's scanner. It was said that drugs were consumed at the party by many famous stars, including Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, etc. The video went viral, and the audience found 'cocaine lines' on the sofas.
6. Mamata Kulkarni: Mamata Kulkarni was one the most admired actresses of her time. During her peak time, she had more drug cases than the movie credits. She was booked for drug trafficking in 2014 and was arrested by the Kenya police with her husband Vicky Goswami and Indian national Kulam Hussein.
7. Armaan Kohli: Armaan Kohli is the newest member of this list. The Bollywood actor was arrested in 2021 as the NCB raided his apartment in Juhu, Mumbai, and drugs were found at his residence.
8. Rakul Preet Singh: Upon Rhea’s revelation, Rakul Preet Singh too was summoned by NCB for drug claims. Her name came up during the ongoing investigation for Sushant Singh Rajput.
9. Arjun Rampal’s Girlfriend’s brother: Arjun Rampal’s troubles with NCB piled up when his grilling session nearly went on for 7 straight hours. Arjun’s Australian friend, Paul Bartel was arrested in a drug case who had been in constant touch with Agisialos Demetriades, a drug peddler.
10. Deepika Padukone: The death of Sushant put many Bollywood actors under the radar of NCB and the one name that left us shocked was Deepika Padukone. The actress was summoned by the Bureau after the private WhatApp chats were leaked. It was quite some time that Deepika had to spend followed by several hours of cross-questioning.
