The 94th Academy awards are the only thing that is in the headlines. The award returned to the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood to honour movies and actors from the last year by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Hosted by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes, this was the first when the ceremony featured multiple hosts. From Will Smith’s slap to Chris Rocks to the big debut wins for the celebs, the ceremony was in the talks for every right reason. 1. Will Smith (Best Actor): Will Smith clinched the award for best actor male for his performance in King Richard shortly after delivering a tight slap to Chris Rocks for mocking his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s baldness while presenting an award.
2. Jessica Chastain (Best Actress): We can say the award went to the right hands. Jessica Chastain got honored with the award of best actresses 2021 for her tremendous performance in ‘The Eye of Tammy Faye’.
3. Coda (best feature film): Coda created history during the ceremony by collecting all the awards it was nominated for. Helmed by Sian Heder, the movie won the awards for Best Picture and a historic win for Troy Kotsur
4. Troy Kotsur (Best supporting actor): Not just Coda created history during the ceremony. Even the actor of the movie, Troy Kotsur created history by becoming the first ever deaf human to collect the award of best supporting actor.
5. Ariana DeBose (Best supporting actress): Ariana DeBose who kept us on the edge of our seats with her performance won the academy award for best supporting actress who her performance in ‘West Side Story’.
6. Encanto (Best animated film): Promoting the women empowerment, Encanto by Disney collected the award for Encanto. Apart from Encanto, movies like Luca, Flee, Raya and the Last Dragon were nominated for the award.
7. Summer of Soul (best documentary): Summer of Soul, which won Best Documentary Feature immediately after the slap, was robbed of its much-deserved moment in Oscars history. The movie defeated Ascension, Flee, Writing the fire to win the award.
8. Dune (best sound): While Timothee and Zendaya, bagged big wins at the ceremony, Dune clinched the award for best sound. The credit of the sounds goes to Mac Ruth, Mark Mangini, Theo Green, Doug Hemphill and Ron Bartlett.
9. Cruella (best costume design): Thanks to over-the-top creations for Emma Stone like a garbage-truck gown with a 40-foot train, Jenny Beavan won the Academy Award for best costume design for her work on Cruella at the 94th ceremony on March 27, 2022.
10. Dune (Best score): Hans Zimmer won an Oscar for best original score on Sunday (March 27) for Dune. In so doing, he set a record. He waited longer to win his second scoring Oscar than any other composer in history.
