1. Juhi Parmar: Many of you will be shocked to know that Rupali Ganguly was not the first choice of the makers to play the role of Anupama. Widely celebrated actress, Juhi Parmar who is known for her role in Yeh Jeevan Hai and Rishtey was approached first to play the role but she rejected it as she was already roped for another TV serial.
2. Karan Patel: The show picked another pace when Anuj Kapadia came in show. But the chemistry between Anupama and Anuj would have been different if the original choice of the makers which is Karan Patel would have accepted the offer. He rejected the offer because of his personal commitments.
3. Gauri Pradhan: Known for her role of Gauri Mittal in Kutumb and Nandini in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Gauri Pradhan was considered for the role of Anupama, but rejected the offer saying ‘she doesn’t think she is meant to play the role of Anupama.
4. Shivin Narang: Shivin is one of the most loved actors in the Indian TV industry. Looking at the popularity and work of the actor, he was offered to play the role of Samar in Anupama but he rejected it as he was already committed to some other show.
5. Sakshi Tanwar: Apart from Rupali, the only actress we can see as Anupama as Sakshi Tanwar and even the makers thought the same and that’s why they approached her. But unfortunately, the actor was already occupied with web series' work and Bollywood projects.
6. Gurmeet Choudhary: Son to be father, Gurmeet Choudhary received the offer from the makers of Anupama to play the role of Anuj. However, he supposedly declined the offer as he could not relate to the character.
7. Shveta Salve: Known for her roles in Left Right Left and Kahin Kissi Roz, Shveta Salve was also among the few who had a good shot at the show. But according to the rumours, the actor was looking for a hefty remuneration, which is why the collaboration didn't happen.
8. Jay Soni: The role of Samar was offered to Jay Soni way before the shoot of the series even started but he declined the offer as he was prepping for the role of lead in Sasural Genda Phool.
9. Mona Singh: The Jassi Jais Koi Nahi fame Mona Singh was the first actor who was offered the role of Anupama. Due to unknown reasons, she rejected the offer.
10. Gautam Gulati: Gautam Gulati who has now switched to Bollywood wants to focus on his career in film and hence, reports states that he declined the role of Anuj Kapadia in Anupamaa.
