1. Sridevi: Hailed as the initial female superstar of the industry, Sridevi took her last breath on the night of February 24. She was found dead by her husband in her hotel bathtub in Dubai. And the report that created controversies was the postmortem report that claimed that she died because of accidental drowning". However, what exactly happened on a fateful evening would always remain a mystery.
2. Sushant Singh Rajput: Was it murder or suicide, this is that one question that has given me many sleepless nights. The actor was found dead at his apartment on 14th June 2020. His death made NCB bust out many drug rackets working inside the Bollywood industry. They even arrested some suspects but the case is still on.
3. Jiah Khan: Jiah Khan, a young British-Indian actress was found dead hanging on the ceiling fan of her apartment on June 3, 2013, in Mumbai. And on June 7, 2013, her sister found a letter that accused Sooraj Pancholi of her death. The CBI declared her death a suicide by hanging. But her mother approached British forensic and claimed that her death was staged.
4. Parveen Babi: Praveen Babi was found dead inside her house in Mumbai. She was reportedly diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. But the postmortem report claimed that the actor only had alcohol in her stomach and there were no traces of food. And police determined that her death was caused due to multiple organ failures.
5. Guru Dutt: The legendary Bollywood actor Guru Dutt was found dead at his rented apartment in Pedder Road Mumbai. There were rumors that he had a very turbulent married life which pushed him in the hell of alcohol. He even started sleeping fills. The police claimed that he died before of the overdose of sleeping pills but the question that was unanswered was that was it a suicide or accidental overdose.
6. Smita Patil: She was married to actor Raj Babbar. She died on December 13, 1986, due to childbirth complications after giving birth to her son Prateik Babbar. After almost two decades, one of India’s famous director Mrinal Sen alleged that the actor died due to medical negligence.
7. Divya Bharti: Reportedly, the actress fell to death from the fifth floor of her apartment in Versova, Mumbai. Her body was released on 7 April 1993 and the funeral took place the same day. Divya was allegedly married to producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Police closed the investigation into her death in 1998, but the circumstances of her death still remain murky.
8. Silk Smitha: It has been more than 20 years since Silk Smitha committed suicide, but till date, no one knows why the actress took the extreme step. Smitha was found dead at her Chennai apartment on September 23, 1996. Though no one knows the exact reason, it is believed that she was battling multiple problems, including financial crunch, disillusionment in love and severe depression.
