Indian carmaker behemoth Tata launched its much anticipated Tigor Electric Vehicle (EV) on 31st August after testing the car for months. It will start from Rs 11.99 lakh and the highest variant will cost Rs 13.14 lakh. It was initially offered to important people and people in the government but now has been made available for the general public. This becomes the second EV launched by Tata following the successful launch of Nexon EV, which falls under the compact-SUV segment. Tigor is being offered in three trims; XE, XM, and XZ+ — with a dual-tone color option only available on the highest trim. It comes in two colour options — Signature Teal Blue and Daytona Grey. Here are 5 features of India’s cheapest EV yet, Tata Tigor EV:

Tigor gets a 26kWh liquid-cooled battery that produces 55kHw of power and 170 Nm of torque. It produces a respectable range of 306 Km in one full charge. Moreover, it has a fast-charging mechanism that charges its battery from 0 to 80 in 60 minutes. It also includes an 8 year and 160,000 kilometers battery and motor warranty.

From the inside, the car retains much of the look from its petrol variant with dark-toned interior seats, comfortable and cushiony seats, low ride height which can be altered according to preference. Being an electric car, it misses the manual transmission system.

Its features list includes a 7-inch touch screen display with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, 4 speaker Harman speaker sound systems, automatic climate control, and a digital instrument cluster. The battery has an IP67 rating that will make the battery weatherproof.

For safety, the car comes with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), a rear parking camera with parking sensors, and seat belt reminders for the front passengers.

Its basic model, XE is being offered at Rs 11.99 lakh meanwhile, the XM trim will cost Rs 12.49 lakh and the XZ+ trim will be offered at Rs 12.99 lakh. A dual-tone colour variant is also being offered with the XZ+ trim that will cost Rs 13.14 lakh.
