We all had a funny and charming childhood and a credit for that somewhere goes to Asit Kumar Modi’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma. Based on Taarak Mehta’s weekly column called Duniya Ne Undha Chasma in Chitralekha magazine, the show gave us bone-tickling laughter and some tears of happiness. This hilarious show is the longest-running sitcom in the Indian TV industry. First aired back in 2008, the show made a special place in our hearts. But now, it is not the same anymore cause several actors from the legendary cast have exited the show. Today, here we bring you a compiled list of the stars who left Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma.
1. Disha Vakani AKA Dayaben: We all will run out of words but will never be able to explain the entertainment Disha Vakani gave with her unmatchable accent and Garba moves. Playing the role of Dayaben, Disha left the show soon after giving birth to her first back. And now the makers of the show confirmed that she is never going to return to the show as she is all committed to her work-life responsibilities.
2. Raj Anadkat aka Tapu: Raj Anadkat, who can be seen playing the role of Tapu is soon going to leave the show. As per the sources of Etimes, Raj is looking forward to exiting the show after wrapping up his shoots till Christmas. Raj entered the show as the replacement of Bhavya Gandhi and looted hearts with his performance.
3. Neha Mehta aka Anjali Mehta: Neha Mehta who rose to fame with her performance as Anjali Mehta left the show in 2020. As per the reports, her difference with the production became the reason for her existence. Currently, she is filming for her upcoming Gujarati movie.
4. Bhavya Gandhi aka Tapu: Bhavya Gandhi was with the show since the day it was first aired but in 2016, he surprisingly decided to leave the show. Talking about his reason to leave the show, he said he said he I am just leveling myself now. I do not have any mandate as such in terms of what will I take up or not.
5. Jheel Mehta aka Sonu: Even after being one of the highest-paid child actors of that time, Jheel Mehta decided to leave the show as she wanted to focus on her studies. She even scored above 90% in her 10th exams, after quitting the show.
6. Gurucharan Singh aka Roshan Singh Sodhi: The Gabru Gawan of the show Gurucharan Singh AKA Roshan Singh Sodhi left the show in midway cause he was forced to undergo surgery by his doctor. However, some reports even claimed that he left the show due to some payment issues with the team.
7. Nidhi Bhanushali aka Sonu: Nidhi Bhanushali who came to the show as a replacement for Jheel Mehta too left the show because of the same reason as Jheel. The actress was pursuing her BA from a college in Mumbai and wanted to devote her entire time to her studies.
8. Monika Bhadoriya AKA Bawri Dhondulal Kanpuria: The actor, who was one of the most entertaining characters on the show, reportedly quit due to differences with the makers. The actor was dissatisfied with the pay package she was being offered.
9. Dilkhush Reporter AKA Roshan Kaur Sodhi: The actor bagged the rib-tickling role right after her wedding and because of the tight shooting schedule, she was unable to give any time to her private life. Apart from that, her health started deteriorating as well. Therefore, she decided to quit the show.
10. Nirmal Soni AKA Dr. Hansraj Baldevraj Hathi: After starting his career as a theatre artist, his breakthrough came when he bagged the role of the doctor in this sitcom. Although the reason for his exit from the show is not clear, some reports suggest that he left after a disagreement he had with the makers. However, he returned to the show after the heart-breaking demise of Kavi Kumar Azad.
