Skoda Auto India has released the first official design sketches of the Slavia compact sedan, which is set to debut on November 18, 2021. It is rumoured to start at a premium price tag of Rs 10 lakh and the top model will cost Rs 16 lakh. The sedan will be locally produced at the company's Pune facility. Deliveries are expected to begin by early next year. The Slavia will be the first sedan to be based on the new platform. It will replace the Skoda Rapid in the company’s lineup in India and will compete against the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. As is Skoda’s policy, the Slavia will not come with any diesel variant. The brand has already ended the production of the Rapid compact sedan at its Pune facility, making the Salvia a direct replacement for the old sedan.
