September 21 is going to be marked as a horrific day as renowned Indian comedian, actor, and politician passed away at the age of 58 on this day. According to the officials, he suffered a sudden heart attack on August 10 following which he was rushed to AIIMS Delhi. The comedian was immediately shifted to ICU, he did not gain consciousness for over 40 days and despite doctors' best efforts, his health kept deteriorating even days after he suffered a heart attack. According to doctors, he had suffered brain damage following the heart attack. He was declared dead on September 21. Raju Srivastav was born on December 25, 1963, in Kanpur, India in a middle-class family. His father, Ramesh Chandra Srivastav, was a poet known as Balai Kaka.

On July 1, 1993, Raju Srivastav married Shikha Srivastav, together they have two children, Antara and Ayushman.

He started his comedy journey on a talent show 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge' and finished as second runner-up.

Raju Srivastav has performed in stage shows in India and abroad and brought smiles and laughter to faces all over the world.

In 2010, Raju received threatening calls from Pakistan warning him not to crack jokes on underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Pakistan during his shows.

He also worked in Bollywood movies. Some of these were Maine Pyar Kiya, Bombay to Goa, and Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya.

Raju Srivastav participated in many Indian reality shows including Bigg Boss season 3 where he was voted out after 2 months. He later participated in the comedy show Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala, with his wife participating in Nach Baliye season 6. He has also appeared on Comedy Nights with Kapil and many other shows.

Apart from comedian, he also stepped into politics. Samajwadi Party fielded Srivastava from Kanpur for the 2014 Lok Sabha election. But on 11 March 2014, Srivastava returned the ticket, saying he was not getting enough support from the local units of the party.

After that, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party on 19 March 2014. Prime Minister Narendra Modi nominated him to be part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Since then he has been promoting cleanliness through his events in different cities.
