Unlike other big-budget extravaganzas, 'Pushpa – The Rise' not just backed the culture but also made a stamp on the Indian cinema. Narrating the story of Pushpa Raj, an outcast, born out of wedlock, the movie changed the curve of cinema and delivers never-experienced entertainment. Helmed by Sukumar, Pushpa: The Rise shows promise when it wraps things up and sets up things for Pushpa 2. The story of the movie not just portrayed the story of a protagonist who amasses his resources with quick thinking but also reflects the deeply rooted class and caste system.

1. The first installment of two-part gangster and action drama, Pushpa: The Rise, is the story of the protagonist named Pushpa Raj born out of wedlock, and his struggle to become the controller of the smuggling syndicate from a daily wager. Driven by his ignominy of proving and making his name in the town, Pushpa vows that one day his name will be enough to make his opponent go weak, without the support of his father’s family. Pushpa is born in the land of ‘red gold’ — Seshachalam is blessed with the abundance of a rare wood, which is red. There is a huge demand in the international markets for it. In his journey of outrunning his past and making his name on his merit, he falls in love with a girl named Srivalli. Everything was going in the favor of Pushpa until a new officer gets transferred into the town and starts an investigation around the syndicate.

2. Talking about acting, just like every time, Allu Arjun shouldered the movie with his unconventional acting performance. Not just Allu but Rashmika Madonna and Sunil also gave a new life to the story. The overall look of Allu Arjun, gave his role of Pushpa some charismatic ruthlessness and aggressiveness. This was not the first time Allu did something like this but the way his co-actors especially Fahad Fassil, Sunil, and Anasuya Bhardwaj backed his character in the most anti-hero manner is just commendable. With all said and done, Pushpa: The Rise is Allu Arjun’s show all the way. He shines in playing this rustic character that is hard on the surface but vulnerable in ways that others don’t see.

3. The movie is an overall superhit on the box-office and OTT stream all credit to its song. The songs were trending on the chart way before the movie was even released on the box office. The song which collected the most attention was 'Oo Antava Oo Oo'. The Tamil version of the song was sung by Indravathi Chauhan while the Hindi version was sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. With some hyped beat and lesson-giving lyrics wrapped in an item number, the song saw a seductive performance by Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Another song that made the audience rock the stage is Saami Saami. The Tamil version of the song is sung by Maulika Yadav while the Hindi version is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. The song may have groovy beats while being a romantic number but the hype around the song among the audience is truly incredible.

4. Also underwhelming are the VFX, art direction, editing, and sound design in certain scenes. The team of Pushpa: The Rise did not hide the fact that they had to rush to release the film on time and it shows through the cracks. Given the run-time that seems unwarranted already, the technical glitches only make the flaws all the more glaring. Where Pushpa: The Rise shines is when it comes to the casting, direction, cinematography, costumes and music for the most part.

5. After watching the first part of the gangster drama fans are eager to know what are they going to witness in the second part of the movie which is titled Pushpa: The Rule. As per the statements of director Sukumar, The storyline and the characters took on lives of their own and grew to a span that required the movie to be released in two parts. As in the climax of the movie we saw the entry of Fahad Fassil as the ACP. We can expect him to create trouble for Pushpa. His enmity with his arch-nemesis, Inspector Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, will also be something to watch out for in the second part. Allu Arjun plays the main lead in this action thriller and it also stars Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, Dhananjay, Anasuya Bharadwaj and others. As per the reports, the filming of the sequel will start somewhere in the end of this year.
