From originals like 'The Queen's Gambit' and 'Never have I ever' to brand new seasons of 'Money Heist', 'The Crown' and many more, Netflix's content in the whole last year was nothing short of entertaining. And as 2021 begins, Netflix has taken a more bold and experimental approach in terms of diversity of genres in shows. Much more captivating documentaries have also been introduced as part of the January list, and here're a few of the much talked about shows to look out for :

Headspace Guide to Meditation, January 1 : In partnership with Headspace, Netflix has come up with this 8-episode series, highlighting the importance of meditation in your everyday life. With this rather experimental attempt, the series teaches you techniques on how to tackle stress through meditation practice including basics and a full-guide. After an anxiety-prone 2020, you can start streaming this Netflix series as the best way to kick-start this year.

History of Swear words, January 5 : Nicolas Cage takes you on a journey through the origin, evolution and cultural impact of swear words in this six-part comedy series. Hosting the docu-series, he explores the history of some of the most notorious bad words of English reflecting on their pop culture usage through the years with the help of several celebrity commentators and comedians. With this initial January release, Netflix is already getting more experimental.

-Surviving Death, January 6 : Contemplating on aspects of possibility of an afterlife, Surviving Death is one of the first of its kinds, directed by Ricki Stern. The series builds up on cues from best-selling writer and journalist Leslie Kean’s book Surviving Death. Shifting views on mortality and existence after death, doctors and physicians share their opinions based on real-life accounts, some of them even have had near-death experiences themselves, this series is definitely unmissable.

Night Stalker : The hunt for a serial killer, January 13 : This crime-thriller documentary series follows the story of Richard Ramirez, one of the most vicious serial killers in American history, nicknamed 'Night Stalker' who committed a series of horrendous murders and sexual assaults in Los Angeles, bringing California to a standstill. With no obvious patterns in the crimes, two detectives swore to hunt him down and the series features this horror story with real-time interviews and actual footage.

Bling Empire, January 15 : Introducing the viewers to the Kardashians of Asian Community, Bling Empire, is an upcoming reality series, breaking the stereotypes attached with Asians as it follows the journey of LA's super-rich Asian Americans who are blessed with extremely lavish and glamorous lives. Apart from the extravagance, the show will also shed light on the complicated and controversial relationships of these Asian youngsters.

Fate : The Winx Saga, January 22 : A live-action version of the animated series The Winx Club, Fate : The Winx Saga, follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies, led by Bloom, who attend Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld. The young fairies learn the proper usage of their magical powers while navigating love, friendships, rivalries and monsters in this fantasy drama, coming to Netflix to make the millennials reminisce their teenage years.
