Forbes has released India’s Richest Billionaires List for 2023. According to Forbes, business tycoon Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, has been named the richest man in India, while Gautam Adani has slipped to the 2nd position from the previous year's 1st position. This year, India has set a record with the 3rd highest number of billionaires in the world. Ambani is the only Indian billionaire named in the top 10 billionaires in the world rankings. Here are the top 10 richest people in India according to Forbes:

1. Mukesh Ambani (USD 83.4 Billion): Indian business tycoon, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, has risen to the position of India’s richest person with a net worth of USD 83.4 billion. Ambani has maintained his position as both India’s and Asia’s wealthiest person. Mukesh Ambani is also named as the world’s 9th richest person.

2. Gautam Adani (USD 47.2 Billion): Indian billionaire industrialist, founder, and chairman of the Adani Group, has slipped to the position of the 2nd richest person in India with a net worth of USD 47.2 billion. Adani has faced a great downfall as he slipped from the 3rd to 24th position on the world's richest man list.

3. Shiv Nadar (USD 25.6 Billion): Indian billionaire industrialist, founder, and chairman of Hindustan Computers Limited (HCL), an information technology service giant, has been named as the 3rd richest person in India with a net worth of USD 25.6 billion. Last year, Nadar was at the 5th position.

4. Cyrus Poonawalla (USD 22.6 Billion): Billionaire businessman, the chairman and managing director of the Cyrus Poonawalla Group, which includes the Serum Institute of India, the world's largest vaccine manufacturer company, and Poonawalla Fincorp. He has maintained his previous year's 4th position in the Indian billionaires list with a net worth of USD 22.6 billion.

5. Lakshmi Niwas Mittal (USD 17.7 Billion): Popularly known as Lakshmi Mittal, an Indian steel magnate, Chairman of ArcelorMittal, the world’s 2nd largest steelmaking company, has been named as the 5th richest person in India with a net worth of 17.7 billion. Mittal has risen from last year's 15th position to the 5th position.

6. Savitri Jindal (USD 17.5 Billion): Indian businesswoman and politician, former chairperson of O.P. Jindal Group, has been named as the 6th richest person in India. She is the only woman named in the top 10 Indian billionaires list.

7. Dilip Shanghvi (USD 15.6 Billion): Founder and Managing Director of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Sun Pharma), the fourth-largest specialty generic pharmaceutical company in the world. Shanghvi is the 7th richest person in India with a net worth of USD 15.6 Billion.

8. Radhakishan Damani (USD 15.3 Billion): Billionaire investor, the founder of Avenue Supermarts Limited, popularly known as DMart, an Indian retail corporation, has slipped from the 3rd to 8th position with a net worth of USD 15.3 billion.
