American automotive giant Tesla has been eyeing the Indian market for a long time now and with the confirmation from India’s union minister Nitin Gadkari, the all-electric car company is set to grace the Indian roads by mid-2021. Tesla, founded by billionaire Elon Musk has cemented its name in the automobile sector as a trusted and innovative brand. The offerings of the company are unmatched as it produces a total green vehicle which contains minimalistic design and high-tech intelligent system all around. What comes as an uncharacteristic feature is its performance. Tesla’s Model 3 is unbelievably fast and agile. Given there is no traditional fuel engine, the power from its electric motors come as disbelief. The interior of Tesla Model 3 is super simple with just one big screen mounted at the driver’s side. The car is practical, green, speedy and sleek. One can tell easily by just looking at it that no comprises have been made in any area of the design. With a price tag of Rs65 lakh, one would expect the same from the automotive giant.

Tesla’s Model 3, one of its best selling car is undoubtedly a catch for the eye. Its simple design with no extra efforts makes it stand out from its competition. The minimalist design might irk some people but for the rest, it will make up to a perfect daily driver. Its soothing creases, well-built material, sturdy body and high-tech features trump the other cars in the competition.

It usually comes with a 75Kw battery. The 50 kW DC charger takes an hour to charge the car from 10 per cent to 80 per cent. It launches very quickly as it reaches 0-60 km-hr in 3.6 seconds. The 2875mm wheelbase makes up to a lot of comfortable space inside the car and even lets 5 people, 3 at the back, sit at once without any real discomfort. The company promises 500 kilometres of range on full-charge, which for an all-electric car is impressive nonetheless.

There are hardly any buttons in the car. There are a total of two buttons inside the car and only the driver can find them as they are mounted on the steering wheel to operate the infotainment screen. That is one area where the Tesla cars thrash the other mainstream car manufacturers. The infotainment screen is considered to be the best in the business.

Everything in the car can be controlled through the huge infotainment screen. It has a dual climate control system, google maps SAT navigation as standard, voice commands, built-in Spotify app, full-internet connectivity with google search along with regular function controls. Many of the operation of the car like locking/unlocking, climate control, charging state etc can be controlled from Tesla’s designated app for the Model 3.

The practicality of the car is decent as well. The door bins amongst the sides are big enough to hold big bottles, there is wireless charging for the mobile phones, a good-sized glovebox which opens through the screen rather than a physical button or handle. However, it is yet to be seen what features Tesla would include and what it will exclude when it launches the car for the Indian roads.
