Japanese car manufacturing company Toyota has showcased the second-gen Mirai hydrogen Fuel-Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) at the ongoing 16 edition of Auto Expo 2023. The Mirai is not going to be launched in India but the company has conducted a pilot project to test the hydrogen fuel cell EV’s performance on Indian roads. The Mirai is based on Toyota’s GA-L platform, which has allowed the sedan to repackage fuel-cell stack and drivetrain components. The vehicle can fit in as many as three hydrogen tanks. The second-gen Mirai gets a completely different design to its predecessor as compared to interior and exterior design and style. The Mirai has features with advanced technology and safety elements. 1. Price:- The price of this electric sedan starts from Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom) in other countries. This sedan is available in three versions.
2. Engine:- Mirai generates power by combining hydrogen with oxygen from outside air. This sedan uses hydrogen powered fuel cell technology that generates energy for the electric motor to generate a maximum power of 182PS and a maximum torque of 406Nm.
3. Top Speed:- It has a 5.2kg fuel tank for hydrogen gas and the top speed of this sedan is 646km. Second-generation Mirai can go up to 640km on a full tank of hydrogen.
4. Interior:- Looking inside, it is featured with Colour Head-Up Display (HUD), power door locks with shift-linked automatic lock/unlock feature, dual extendable sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors, speedometer, three-zone automatic climate control for driver, passenger and rear seat passengers, separate rear digital control panel.
5. Exterior:- The exterior of this sedan has LED Tail Lights, daytime running lights, 19-inch twin-spoke aluminium alloy wheels, satin-black front grille and rain-sensing variable windshield wipers.
6. Infotainment:- This electric sedan has a 12.3-inch infotainment system, wireless charger, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, 14 speakers, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
7. Connectivity:- For connectivity, it is featured with a personalized maintenance updates and vehicle health reports, Wi-Fi hotspot and Integrated Streaming with Apple music.
8. Safety:- For safety, it has front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, anti-theft system with alarm and engine immobilizer pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control (DRCC), and road sign assist (RSA).
9. Dimension:- It comes in the following dimensions:- 1470 mm height, 1885 mm width is 1885 mm and 4975 mm length and 2920 wheel base.
10. Competitors:- The main competitor of this electric sedan is the Tesla Model S in the international market.
