British car manufacturer Morris Garage (MG) has launched the all-new compact SUV Astor. Moreover, MG further announced that the Astor has been sold out for 2021 via pre-booking with deliveries beginning from November 1. Priced from Rs 9.78 lakh to Rs 17.38 lakh (introductory ex-showroom pan-India), the Astor competes directly with already established cars like the Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon. The Astor is classified under the compact SUV class and packs a punch in the engine with loads of features. MG Astor is offered in 11 variants - the base model of Astor is Style and the top variant MG Astor Savvy Turbo AT which comes at a price tag of Rs. 17.38 Lakh. The Astor manages to stand out in the segment with its looks, tech and upmarket cabin experience. And the rest of the elements like drive and comfort look promising as well. Here are 10 features of the all-new MG Astor being launched in India:

1. Offered in five trims of Style, Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy, the new MG Astor is seen as a capable rival to current stalwarts Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos that currently command sales charts. The new Astor boasts of India’s first AI assistant and first in segment Autonomous (Level 2) technology which will allow it to fit well into the premium mid-size SUV segment.

2. Soft-touch material is seen throughout its interiors which are also laden with infotainment, safety and comfort features. It gets three interior colour schemes of dual-tone Sangria Red, dual-tone Iconic Ivory and Tuxedo Black.

3. It boasts of a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Jio e-SIM connected car features. The new Astor will be set apart with new LED head and tail lamps, LED signature lamps, revised front and rear bumpers and a new ‘Celestial Grille’.

4. It will also get chrome accents throughout its exteriors for a more premium appeal. The Astor rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. The MG Astor measures 4,323 mm in length, 1,809 mm in width and 1,650 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,585.

5. MG’s IoT partner Jio enables in-car connectivity, allowing access to real-time connectivity, infotainment, telematics, and music streaming service. Customers will get a free 4GB monthly internet pack in the SUV, which can be further customized up to 9 GB and 14 GB at an additional cost.

6. The 1.5-litre VTi-Tech petrol is priced between Rs 9.78 lakh and Rs 14.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The more powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol with 6-AT only ranges between Rs 15.88 lakh and Rs 16.78 lakh (ex-showroom). The latter also brings in level-2 autonomous driving features.

7. MG will offer the top-end Sharp (O) variant with the choice of two engines. It will come with the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, mated to a VTI-tech CVT transmission and Ivory White interior theme. The engine is capable of producing 110PS of power and 144 Nm of peak torque.

8. The ADAS feature inside the Astor includes as many as 14 autonomous features, like advanced cruise control, forward collision warning, auto emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure prevention, blind-spot detection, speed assist among others.

9. MG Astor is also the first mid-size SUV in India to offer artificial intelligence (AI) to help incorporate a number of enhanced drive and safety features.

10. Astor has 27 safety features as standard across all variants. This number goes up to 49 at the top end.
