Mercedes-Benz has introduced the much-awaited S-Class 2021 in India at ₹2.17 crore (ex-showroom). The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class comes with fresh styling and loads of features onboard. The ultra-luxury sedan will compete with rivals such as BMW 7-Series and Audi A8. India was allotted 150 units of the seventh generation S-Class. Less than 10 days ago, Mercedes-Benz, which is also India’s biggest luxury car manufacturer, announced that 75 of the 150 S-class have already been booked. More than 8,000 S-Class are already running on Indian roads. The latest model of the S-Class is available in two variants -- S 400d 4Matic (diesel) and S 450 4Matic (petrol). Mercedes-Benz plans to assemble the car in India next year. The all-new -Class continues to take on the other luxury limousines in our market, such as the BMW 7 Series and Audi A8. In the coming months, Mercedes-Benz is also set to introduce its flagship Maybach S-Class luxury limousine in India. Here are 5 new features that you need to know about the Mercedes-Benz S-Class 2021:

1. Under the hood, the Mercedes-Benz is offered with two powertrains that include 3.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The petrol motor is capable of producing 367bhp and 500Nm of torque, while the latter is tuned to produce 330bhp and 700Nm of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is a standard across the line-up.

2. Exterior highlights of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class include sweptback LED headlamps, a new grille with three horizontal slats, new 20-inch alloy wheels, and wedge-shaped LED taillights. The model is available in five colours including Designo Diamond White, Onyx Black, Anthracite Blue, Rubellite Red, and Emerald Green.

3. On the inside, the dashboard is dominated by Mercedes’ new 12.8-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system which is accompanied by a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. The new OLED touchscreen runs the latest Mercedes MBUX system and supports features like facial, voice and fingerprint recognition. Also, part of the package is a 64-colour active ambient lighting, a premium Burmester 4D surround sound system, and massaging seat upfront.

4. At the rear, the S-Class is available with a bench-style seat that has electric adjustment for the outer seats. Rear passengers can adjust the leg-rest and massage function electronically as well. There is also a chauffeur package that adds co-driver seat adjustment from the rear, rear-seat entertainment touchscreens and a central tablet controller for various in-car functions. Another unique safety feature in the new S-class is the front airbags for the rear seat passengers.

5. Mercedes-Benz S-Class price starts at ₹ 2.17 Crore and goes up to ₹ 2.19 Crore. The price of the Diesel version for the S-Class is ₹ 2.17 Crore and the price of the Petrol version for the S-Class is ₹ 2.19 Crore.
