The all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class 2022 is set to be launched in India this year. The latest addition to the C-Class family was made public by the German carmaker in February 2021 and will be launched across various countries this year. The sixth-generation 2022 MB C-Class is a step-up from the 2021 version as it derives technology from the 2021 S-Class to rival its counterparts such as Audi A4, A6, as well as BMW series 2 and 3. As per details put out by MB dealership, the car provides an increased torque at 295-pound feet or 399.966 Nm, compared to the 273-pound feet or 370 Nm of torque provided by 2021 C-Class even though the top speed remains same at 130 mph or 209 kmph.

The car achieves an acceleration of 0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds. It employs a 4-Cylinders in-line diesel engine with maximum power at 4200 revolutions-per-minute (rpm). As per a report by Auto X, the car consumes 18.2 kms per litre as opposed to the claims of 19.2 kms per litre of diesel.

In-term of its interior, it has been inspired by the 2021 S-Class tablet style, portrait-oriented central touchscreen fitted between the front seats, as per a report by AutoCar. The report further states that the car employs second-generation-MBUX infotainment and navigation systems.

The car also boasts of a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication and a sunroof, typical features of the C-Class family. The touchscreen display is 11.9 inches (measured diagonally) which is an improvement over the 10.25 inches display in the 2021 C-Class.

The 2022 C-Class does not employ air suspension, instead, will provide “standard suspension with adaptive dampers”, as per a report by cnet.com. Given the modifications done in both height as well as length (in terms of front overhang), passengers will now enjoy even more personal space

According to a report by autoX, it has a steel body with some aluminium parts with 4 doors and 5 seats. The report further mentions it employs hydraulic shock absorbers and disk brakes as well as a rack-and-pinion steering system. The capacity of the fuel tank is 66 litres.

The length of the car is 4.74 metres, width is 1.82 metres and the height is 1.44 metres. The nominal weight is 1755 kgs with a 428-litres luggage compartment. The car has a rear-wheel drive, automatic transmission, per AutoCar report

The AutoCar report further states that the hybrid version of C-Class 2022 will be available later this year as well. The model will boast a 25 KWh of battery pack, mounted under the boot floor. The synergy between the electric and the petrol engine provides a combined power of 308 hp and a torque of 550 Nm.

The cnet.com report further states that the 2022 model will be assembled in South Africa, Germany and China. The parts will be manufactured at the Bremen Mercedes-Benz plant in Germany which is the lead manufacturing plant of the C-Class. The estimated price of 2022 MB C-Class in India, as per AutoCar, is ₹ 47,39,721 (on-road in Delhi).
