The Lamborghini Gallardo has been the Italian automaker’s most successful car to date with a total production of 14,002 units in its 10-year life span. When the company announced that the Gallardo was being retired, many said that the successor had big shoes to fill and would probably have to be just as crazy as the Gallardo was when it was launched. Living up to the hype, Lamborghini did not disappoint when it launched the Huracan LP 610-4, the successor to Gallardo. Lamborghini has now launched the Huracan Evo RWD Spyder in India at a starting price of Rs 3.54 crore (ex-showroom). This is the fourth iteration of the V10 supercar to be currently offered in India, and like its RWD coupe sibling launched in 2020, it sends 610 naturally aspirated horsepower to the road via its rear wheels only. Here are the top 5 features of the newly launched Lamborghini car in India:

1. The Huracan Evo RWD Spyder, like all Huracans before it, is powered by a 5,204cc naturally aspirated V10, and in this guise produces 610hp at a lofty 8,000rpm and 560Nm at 6,500rpm. As the name implies, power goes straight to the rear wheels, via a seven-speed dual-clutch auto, unencumbering the front axle of the weight and complexity of driveshafts.

2. 0-100kph is dealt with in a claimed 3.5sec, which is 0.4sec slower than the AWD Spyder model, and 0-200kph is done in just 9.6 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 324kph. Lamborghini claims a weight of 1,509kg for the Evo RWD Spyder, which is 120kg heavier than the RWD coupe.

3. The seats are racing buckets with contrast-coloured stitching and are mostly Alcantara while the rest of the dashboard is covered in leather. It gets all the luxury options including a touch screen infotainment system, climate control, electrically adjustable OVRMs, multiple airbags and to add to the drama, a launch control button with a flip-up cover.

4. The Spyder’s exterior lines ensure drag reduction and downforce match that of the coupé without requiring additional aerodynamic appendages while enhancing the rear-wheel-drive car’s balance and dynamism with roof both up and down.

5. In a range of colour options, the soft-top closely complements the rear-wheel-drive car’s body lines and colour options, while ensuring a quiet cockpit for easy conversation and entertainment with the roof up or down.
