Caste and religion is a matter of big concern in India, specially when it comes to marriages. With changing times, people have started getting married out of their religion and choose their love over any societal boundation. We have seen many inter-releigious marriages in Bollywood like Sharukh khan and Gauri Khan, Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu, etc. Similarly we can see love growing, smashing all the social boundations among politicians. There are many politicians who have married outside their religion such as Sushil Kumar Modi who married Jessie George, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi who tied the knot with Seema, Syed Shahnawaz Hussain who married Renu, Sachin Pilot who exchanged vows with Sara Abdullah, and now the list adds a new name Tejashwi Yadav who recently married Rachel Iris. The couple tied the knot recently in Delhi. Rachel is a childhood friend of former cricketer and former deputy chief minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav.

On December 9, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav got hitched to his long time friend Rachel Iris, at a farmhouse in Delhi. The wedding took place as per the Hindu rituals. The couple kept their wedding low-key which was attended by nearly 50 people including close family and friends.

On keeping their wedding private, the leader of opposition in Bihar said, "Had the Prime Minister and other leaders attended our wedding, we would have been attending to them and the families would not have had the time to know each other,” adding that Covid was indeed another reason to keep the wedding function private.

The couple have known each other for more than 7 years, and have studied together in Delhi Public School in RK Puram. Rachel hails from Haryana and lives in Delhi with her family, as per the media reports.

Rachel Iris has now got a new name 'Rajshree Yadav'. Tejashwi clarified that his father Lalu Prasad Yadav has given a new name to his wife, as Rajshree is easy to pronounce for Lalu as well as for the people of Bihar.

The 32-year-old politician informed the media that Bahu-bhoj(reception) will take place in Patna. However, the date is not disclosed yet.
