As the adage goes, true love knows no reason, no boundaries, no distance as it has a sole intention of bringing people together to a time called "forever". Sachin Pilot, an eminent Indian politician and a member of the Congress party, is one such individual who married the love of his life Sarah Abdullah transcending the barrier of religion. Sachin is the son of former union minister Rajesh Pilot while Sarah is the daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Farooq Abdullah. Sachin and Sara Pilot's heartwarming love story has proved that true love rises above all barriers. Even though there were numerous differences in cultural and religious practices between the families of the couple, they did not allow those differences to come in way of their love. Their unfettered love for each other succeded against all odds and they tied the knot in 2004.

1. Sachin and Sara met for the first time when they were both studying in London. Even though they met for the first time when they were abroad for studies, their families already knew each other. Fathers of both Sachin and Sara were well-known in the political field and were also close friends.

2. Sachin and Sara became close friends soon after and the beautiful relation of friendship grew and then blossomed into a more beautiful relation of love.

3. They soon confessed their feelings and decided to get together. Though their familes were well acquainted to each other, they were not comfortable with the love story of Sachin and Sara.

4. The couple did have their share of challenges when Sachin had to return to India after his MBA degree was completed and Sara had to stay back in England. The couple had decided to part ways due to the long distance.

5. Soon after parting ways, Sara and Sachin realized how they felt incomplete with the absence of each other. The distance had made their feelings for each other grow stronger than before. Sachin and Sara kept in touch via e-mails and phone calls

6. Nearly three years later, the couple decided to get tied in a sacred bond of marriage. They were well aware of the challenges that came with the marriage as Sachin belonged to a Hindu family and Sara was a Muslim.

7. Sachin mustered up the courage to bring his intention to his parent's notice. His Rajasthani Gujjar family had straightaway refused the proposal. But eventually, Sachin was able to convince his family of the marriage.

8. Sachin managed to convince his family but Sara was yet to convince her parents. As Sara belonged to a conservative Muslim family, his father was not ready to give his consent to the relationship. Sara shared a close relationship with her father and she wanted to move forward with Sachin only with her father's consent who remained adamant about refusing the proposal. Sara's father was heartbroken to see her daughter shattered though he was also fond of Sachin but due to the social complications, he felt his hands were tied.

9. When the news about Sara and Sachin's relationship came out in public, several protests and campaigns steered up against their relationship in the Kashmir Valley. The protest hadn't stopped even after months and the couple then took a courageous step to tie the knot instead of laying low in fear or parting ways.

10. Amid several challenges, Sachin and Sara got hitched on January 15, 2004. Sara's family had not attended the wedding but later with time the Abdullah family finally reconciled with their daughter's choice after years of marriage. The power couple has been blessed with two adorable sons, Aaran and Vehaan.
