Indian-origin British politician, Rishi Sunak, served as the Chancellor of the Exchequer for nearly two years. Currently, he is in the race to be the United Kingdom's next Prime Minister. Rishi Sunak is married to Akshata Murty- daughter of the Infosys founder N. R. Narayana Murthy. The couple continually has been in the news ever since the Covid pandemic began. They are married for more than a decade now and share an amazing love story, that dates back to their college days. Let's know more about the couple's ageless, timeless and limitless love:

Rishi Sunak had earned a Fulbright scholarship and Akshata was ‘an artistic and fashion-loving student’.

Akshata is a fashion designer and owns 'Akshata Designs' while Rishi may become the UK's next Prime Minister.

On their love story, Rishi said that he switched his class schedule around at Stanford “to be in a particular class” to sit next to Murty. “I didn’t really need to take it but I did it anyway so we could sit next to each other,” he further said.

Reportedly, Narayan Murthy didn't like Rishi Sunak, and said, 'When Akshata told me about her new life partner for the first time, I felt very bad and also felt jealous. But when I met Rishi Rishi, I came to know that he is very honest, sharp and handsome."

The couple married in a simple yet elegant ceremony, in Bangalore in 2009, in the Chamaraja Kalyana Mantapa, Jayanagar, and the reception was held at The Ballroom, Leela Palace Hotel, Old Airport Road, Bangalore.

The guestlist included Azim Premji, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Anil Kumble, Nandan M Nilekani, Captain G.R. Gopinath, Prakash Padukone, Syed Kirmani and Girish Karnad, among many others.

In an interview with ‘The Sunday Times’, Rishi spilled the beans about his and Akshata's personal life. “I’m incredibly tidy, she’s very messy. I’m much more organised, she is more spontaneous,” Sunak said.
