Former President of the United States, Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, share a beautiful love story that inspires many couples across the world. The couple's first date was so adorable and awesome that it became inspiration behind 2016 biographical romantic film, Southside with You. Parker Sawyers played a young Barack Obama while Michelle Robinson played Michelle Robinson in the movie that focuses on the couple's first date in 1989. Though the duo will complete 30 years of togetherness this year, their love seems to be ageless, timeless and limitless. From their first meeting at the Chicago law firm Sidley & Austin to the former president supporting his wife on her recent Becoming book tour, to signing Netflix and Spotify deals, here's every time the couple made us believe in the power of love.

In 1989, Michelle Robinson, 25 and Barack Obama 28, both Harvard graduates, first met each other while working at a law firm in Chicago.

In 1989, Michelle Robinson, 25 and Barack Obama 28, both Harvard graduates, first met each other while working at a law firm in Chicago.

Michelle was given the responsibility to guide Barack Obama. Barack told The Oprah Magazine in 2007, “In the luckiest break of my life, Michelle was assigned to be my adviser. I remember being struck by how tall and beautiful she was.”

Former US President was completely love-smitten and tried to impress Michelle several times but the lady kept ignoring Obama's intense feelings for her.

After many failed attempts of Obama to convince Michelle for a date, Michelle finally said Yes to Barack in 1989. The couple then dated for 2 years and in 1991 Obama proposed to Michelle in the simplest and sweetest way, taking help of a waiter. The waiter headed towards the couple with the dessert and a box of rings, leaving Michelle in shock and Obama got down on one knee right there in the dining room, and Michelle affirmed the proposal.

On October 3, 1992, Barack Obama and Michelle Obama eventually got married. Barack and Michelle tied the knot at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.

Even after completing nearly 30 years of their beautiful marriage, the love between the duo seems to be growing each passing day. In one of her social media posts, celebrating their 27th marriage anniversary, Michelle wrote, "This guy promised me a life full of adventure. I'd say he's delivered. Here's to our next chapter..."

The couple is blessed with two beautiful daughters- Malia Ann Obama and Sasha. Needless to say, the couple is seen as possessing all the qualities of an ideal parent.

The couple never misses expressing love for each other in Social media. On Michelle's 55th birthday on January 17, 2019, the former president posted this adorable throwback photo and sweet caption on Instagram: "I knew it way back then and I’m absolutely convinced of it today—you’re one of a kind."

Whenever the duo is together, it seems like nothing else matters to them. They often seem lost in each other. The day Obama was elected as the first Black president, they embraced at a victory rally in Chicago as if they were the only two people in Grant Park.
