Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not just a name but a class who revived Indian cricket and took cricket to the position where it became a threat to other nations. Formerly known as the ‘Captain Cool’, MS is not just a veteran cricketer but also a great family man. His wife Sakshi Dhoni and daughter Ziva Dhoni are often seen flooding the internet with their adorable pictures and video. We all are aware of the love story of Sakshi and MS via his biopic, but still, there are some deeds you are unaware of.

Very few of us know that MS and Sakshi knew each other since childhood. The family of the two were pretty close as their fathers worked in the same company. But later Sakshi’s family shifted to Dehradun and they lost touch.

However, destiny played its card and made them meet in Mumbai. Dhoni, who was the capain of Indian team at that time, bumped into Sakshi at the Taj Bengal where Sakshi was doing her internship and team India was staying.

Yudhajit Dutta, introduced MS to Sakshi and in no time, they became good friends. And the feelings sparked between them when they got to know how they knew each other since childhood but never talked to each other. According to some media reports, it was MS who fell for her head over heels. He didn’t even hesitated to ask Dutta her number.

When Sakshi received text messages from Dhoni, she initially thought someone was playing a prank on her. Shortly after, the captain of the Indian cricket team was able to convince her that it was him, leaving her in disbelief that the heartthrob of the country initiated a conversation with her.

After a long hustle and meets, the couple finally started dating in 2008. When the two of them realized that they are missing piece of each other, they got engaged on 3 July 2010 in a lowley ceremony in Dehradun.

Maintaining their privacy and only a few days post their engagement, Dhoni and Sakshi tied the knot on 4 July in Dehradun. While the ring ceremony was held at Hotel Competent, the wedding ceremony was held the next day, at Vishranti Resort, located on the outskirts of the city.

Sakshi and Dhoni became parents to a beautiful baby girl named Ziva in February 2015. This was also the time when the Indian team captain was in Australia to play the World Cup.
