Echoing excellence like no one else, Madhubala not just gained success in the Bollywood industry but also became the ultimate parameter of beauty. The actress may live like a superstar and left us wowed with her captivating beauty but failed to gain the love she always desired for. After falling in love several times, she finally found her husband in veteran singer Kishore Kumar. But tragically the nine-year-long marriage of the couple didn't lead to a happy ending:

The tragic love story of Kishore Kumar and Madhubala started when the father of Dilip Kumar, Ataullah Khan played the villain in Madhubala and Dilip’s love story. Dilip himself said in his autobiography that Ataullah's desire to make a business venture of the marriage irked him and he turned her down.

While Madhubala was madly in love with Dilip Kumar, Kishore Kumar was falling in love with her beauty. The veteran singer finally got a chance to confess his love after Dilip and she broke up.

As per the reports, Kishore proposed to Madhubala right before she was about to leave for London for her treatment. Without thinking twice, Madhubala said yes to Kishore. The couple finally got married in 1960 and then left for London together.

After a long treatment, the UK doctors revealed that Madhubala has a hole in her heart and she would not live for very long.

On their return from the UK, Kishore and Madhubala started to live separately. The reason for the couple living separately never came out but Madhubala's younger sister, Zahida aka Madhur Bhushan, revealed some secrets about their marriage life.

According to Zahida, "Madhubala married Kishore Kumar out of stubbornness, and anger towards Dilipsaab." Bhushan said, "After marriage, they flew to London where the doctor told her she had only two years to live. After that Kishore left her at our house saying: 'I can't look after her. I'm on outdoors often'. But she wanted to be with him. He'd visit her once in two months, though. Maybe he wanted to detach himself from her so that the final separation wouldn't hurt. But he never abused her as was reported. He bore her medical expenses."

She added, "Often Kishore Bhaiyya's phone was disconnected. He'd visit her once in two to three months. He'd say, 'If I come, you'll cry and it will not be good for your heart. You'll go into depression. You should rest'. She was young, jealousy was natural. Perhaps, a feeling of being abandoned killed her."

No one came to meet Madhubala, and she grew depressed. She died at the age of 36. One of the most beautiful faces to grace Bollywood screens was left alone to perish.
