Kapil Sharma, India's one of the most loved and known comedians, and his better half Ginni Chatrath share a love story that is nothing less than a Bollywood story. Literally, their story goes like this, a poor boy fell in love with a rich girl, and the girl's father initially didn't agree with his daughter's choice but later with passage of time approved of their relationship. Kapil met Ginni during her college days and from being friends to introducing each other to their parents and being on a reality show together, they fell in love with each other. In the year 2005, Kapil met Ginni for the first time, when they were in college. Kapil was a student of APJ college and Ginni was studying at HMV College, Jalandhar.
Back then, Kapil, 24, started directing plays for some pocket money, and for that purpose he had gone to Ginni's college to take auditions.
One day, Kapil got tired of explaining the role to girls and taking auditions. Then he asked Ginni, 19, to conduct auditions of the girls for him. And as asked by Kapil, she did it for her crush. Additionally, she used to bring home-cooked food for him every day. Kapil always thought that she was doing all that out of sheer respect.
Even though Ginni liked him, and somewhere Kapil knew about it too, he had not been serious about her. As Ginny belonged to a comparatively rich family, Kapil had doubts about the future of their relationship.
One day, one of the friends of Kapil told him that Ginni liked him, but as Kapil revealed in an interview, he didn't take it seriously.
Kapil further said that one day, he directly asked Ginni, " ‘Tu mujhe like toh nahi karti?’ and she denied it. "Later, at a youth festival, I introduced her to my mother as one of my students," Kapil said.
Like many relationships, Kapil and Ginni also went through a phase where they stopped talking to each other. But just for a brief period.
It was when Kapil got rejected for 'Laughter Challenge', and later called Ginni and asked her not to call him. Kapil believed that he thought their friendship had no future as she was financially better and belonged to a different caste, so they took a break. Later, when he got selected for the Laughter Challenge after auditioning again, Ginni called to congratulate him.
On their relationship, Kapil once said, "I never thought anything would be possible between the two of us. But God has been very kind and I’m lucky that I got married to her.” It was when Kapil was going through the toughest time, he realized that Ginni is the one for him. In 2017, Kapil officially announced his relationship with Ginni and wrote an adorable message. He wrote, "Will not say she is my better half, she completes me.
