Once, while having a conversation on Koffee with Karan, Akshay revealed that in 2001, when Mela was about to see its release, Twinkle was somehow very positive about the movie and said that the movie would do great, and if the movie fails to do wonders at box office, Twinkle would marry Akshay. Luckily the movie flopped, and they got married in no time.
When Akshay asked for Twinkle Khanna’s hand in marriage from Dimple Kapadia, the latter was skeptical about it as she thought that he was gay! Even another friend of the latter thought of the same and hence, the confusions. After making Twinkle’s parents agree to the wedding, the couple decided to change vows in a very intimate ceremony.
They got married in the presence of only around 50 guests, at their friend’s Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla’s residence which included Bollywood actor- Aamir Khan, renowned director- Dharmesh Darshan, and politician-Amar Singh.
Despite facing many rumors around the affairs of the actor in the industry, the couple held each other tight and now are the doting parents of Aarav and Nitara.
Today, they are one of the best couples in the Bollywood industry and someone you can take inspiration from. Akshay always says that it’s possible only because of Twinkle’s constant support, that he is a superstar today. She left her career as an actress and became Interior Designer and managed her family.
