There is a saying that we have to go through some fake stones to find the real diamond and the same thing happened in the love story of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. The perfect example of love at first sight, where the magazine shoot played cupid gave us one of the most romantic and mushy couples in the industry. Be it a family get-together, a quick vacation, or a red carpet outing, the duo makes headlines each time they step out together. The two have always had the spotlight on them, but their love story is still unknown to many.
The first meeting of Aishwarya and Abhishek happened during the set photoshoot of their first movie together Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke (which was released in 2000) and that movie brought them close and made them good friends.
This friendship played an important part in their life as at that point of time the couple was freshly gotten out of their respective serious relationships.
After Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, Aishwarya and Abhishek again worked together in 2003 for Rohan Sippy's Kuch Naa Kaho. But the feeling of love for each other sparked only in 2005 -2006 when they shot for Umrao Jaan.
Talking about their relationship, Abhishek had said, "So she'd been a dear, dear friend, and we'd worked in so many films together. The universe conspired to bring us together."
In 2007, Abhishek went to shoot a film. During this production, he couldn’t stop thinking about his bond with Aishwarya and he had some serious thoughts regarding exchanging vows with her and it kept striking his mind.
Considering all the thoughts in his mind, the actor without wasting any time proposed Aishwarya on the balcony. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Abhishek had revealed, “I was filming in New York for a movie, and I used to stand on the balcony of my hotel room and wish that one day wouldn't it be nice if I was together with [Aishwarya], married? So I took her to the very same balcony, and I asked her to marry me.”
Without any hesitation, Aishwarya said yes to him, and with the blessing of almighty, their parents too agreed on the relation, and the couple tied the knot on April 20, 2007.
On November 16, 2011, Abhishek and Aishwarya welcomed their daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. The couple became proud parents to Aaradhya after four years of their marriage.
Abhishek and Aishwarya's love story has inspired many over the years and their bond keeps getting stronger with each passing year.
