Posting a joint statement on their social media, the couple revealed that they have decided to take their paths, but still will be taking care of their son Azad together. The love story of Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao started when Aamir was going through a rough patch in his life.
Aamir and Kiran first met on the set of 2001’s blockbuster Lagaan, where Aamir was roped in the lead and Kiran was working as an Assistant director.
This happened when Aamir was going all depressed after getting divorced from his first wife Reena Dutta. One night, when he was at his loss, Aamir got a call from Kiran. Kiran called him just to check on him and that impressed him.
Soon after Aamir realized that he has fallen for Kiran and decided to confess it to him. And luckily, Kiran felt the same.
After dating each other for a few years, the couple decided to move in together and share a live-in relationship before getting married.
Love blossomed full-time for them and in December 2005, the two tied the knot in an intimate ceremony amongst family and friends.
A few years later, they had a son named Azan via surrogacy and have collaborated on numerous professional commitments as well.
