Gabriella Demetriades is a south-African model and designer. She was chosen as one of FHM's '100 Sexiest Women In The World' contenders. Also, she is popular for being the 'Miss IPL Bollywood'; she represented the IPL team 'Deccan Chargers' in 2009. She worked in several advertisements, and acted in a promo song 'Neelakasham kaividum' for the Malayalam movie 'Red wine'. In 2015, she starred in the Telugu-Tamil language movie 'Oopiri'. On 23 April 2019, she announced her pregnancy with partner Arjun Rampal via an Instagram post. Demetriades gave birth to a boy Arik in July 2019.
Demetriades's mother was an artist and her grandmother owned a fabric store. Inspired by the same, Demetriades pursued fashion designing. She graduated from a university situated in Sunnyside, Gauteng, South Africa.
She started modeling at the age of 16. Demetriades came to India in search of modeling assignments and went on to feature in advertising campaigns for brands like Micromax Mobiles.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Arjun opened up about how he met and fell in love with Gabriella. A mutual love for food was the reason the two came close.
“So it just happened out of the blue. Through common friends, we met and we were discussing food, both of us were foodies and that was like the deal maker. It was a conversation about food. So she told me that ‘I cook a really good leg of lamb’. So I said ‘sure why don’t you come and cook? Then she just came and in 15-20 minutes there was this amazing leg of lamb, which me, my family, my friends and everybody really really enjoyed. And I said the saying is true, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach," Arjun Rampal said.
