What is new in the town, Oh it is Amazon Prime video’s classic web series titled Panchayat that is making headlines. Set in the rural village of India, the series traces the life of an MBA aspirant, Abhishek Tripathi whose life changes after he gets transferred to a technologically and socially backward village named Phulera in Zilla Phakauli. More than the story of the series, it is the cast of the movie which injected a new life into the story. Filled with skilled actors, the series is taking the web series culture of the nation to another level. Today, to celebrate the success of the series, here we bring you a look at the star cast of Panchayat that weaved a warm and funny show:
1. Jitendra Kumar (Abhishek Tripathi): Playing the lead role of Abhishek Tripathi, Jitendra Kumar is the heart of the series. Jitendra aka Jeetu Bhaiya is undoubtedly the OG of OTT culture and is the reason behind the success of numerous Hindi web series including, the Pitches, Kota Factory, and many more.
2. Chandan Roy (Vikas): Just like Batman has Robin, Harry Potter has Ron Wesly, the same way, Abhishek Tripathi has Vikas. Vikas is the office assistant of the gram panchayat, who turns into a good friend of Abhishek. The funny and heartwarming role of Vikas was played by Chandan Roy. Chandan came into the public eye with his side performance in the State of Seige: The Temple Attack and Sanak.
3. Neena Gupta (Manju Devi): If Abhishek is the heart of the series, Manju Devi is the soul of the series. The newly elected Pradhan of the Gram Panchayat, Manju Devi is the wife of ex-Pradhan Brij Bhushan. To play the bold and outspoken role of Manju Devi, the makers chose a bold actress just like her. The role of Manju Devi is played by renowned Bollywood actress Neena Gupta.
4. Raghuvir Yadav (Brij Bhushan Dubey): Known as the Pradhan-Pati in the village, Brij Bhushan Dubey is the husband of Manju Devi. He is in a constant battle with his wife Manju Devi. The iconic role of Brij Bhushan is portrayed by Bollywood actor Raghuvir Yadav. The chemistry shared between, Manju and Raghuvir truly handled the story.
5. Sanvika (Rinki): While most of the actors of the story were the same as in the first season, the second season witnessed the entry of Rinki. Rinki is depicted as Pradhan and Pradhan Pati’s obedient daughter, and this character has a decent quality about her, and she is the most simple yet unique of all the characters in Phulera. The role of Rinki was played by Sanvika who truly wowed the audience with her looks.
6. Faisal Malik (Prahlad Panday): Prahlad Pandey is the deputy Pradhan of the village. Prahlad is the fourth and last individual that completes the Sarpanch’s office. The character is played by Faisal Malik. Faisal even played a pivotal role in Anurag Basu’s Gangs of Wasseypur.
7. Biswapati Sarkar (Prateek): Biswapati Sarkar plays the role of Prateek. He is a friend of Abhishek from the city. His life in the city becomes the object of envy to Abhishek.
