On the eve of Deepavali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday landed in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya and took part in the sixth edition of the grand Deepotsav celebrations in the holy city. PM Modi also offered prayers at Ram Janmabhoomi, performed aarti on the banks of Sarayu river and launched the grand Deepotsav celebrations. While launching the Deepotsav celebrations PM Modi said Lord Ram is in Ayodhya's DNA. At the event, PM Modi also witnessed Ayodhya setting up a new world record of lighting up as over 15 lakh diyas on the banks of Sarayu river. The city broke Ujjain’s record and also its own previous record of lighting 9,41,551 diyas at the Deepotsav in 2021.

PM Modi inspected the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra site in Ayodhya, accompanied by UP's Governor, and CM.

Addressing a gathering at the event PM Modi said, “One can find the inspiration of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas and the principles of Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas in Lord Rama’s words and thoughts.”

CM Yogi Adityanath holds the 6th consecutive Guinness World Record certificate for lighting over 15 lakh lamps in Ayodhya.
