In 2022, many top automobile companies launched their much awaited premium SUVs, hatchbacks and Jeeps that took the car market by storm. Top car manufacturing companies like Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Hyundai and many more companies have always experimented with new technologies and features in both luxury and high price segments . 1. Maruti Suzuki:- In 2022, India's one of the largest car manufacturing companies Maruti Suzuki launched its upgraded Baleno in four variants (Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha) in February, followed by the Ertiga XL6 in April, upgraded Brezza in June, and Alto K10 in August and upgraded Grand Vitara in September. The Brezza and Grand Vitara have been nominated for the 2023 Indian Car of The Year (ICOTY) awards.
2. Hyundai :- South Korean car manufacturing company Hyundai launched two much awaited models in the year 2022. Hyundai Venue (Rs 7 lakh) was launched in June and then in August 2022, it grabbed the attention by launching Hyundai Tucson (Rs 27.70 lakh). Tuscan is also nominated for the 2023 Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) awards.
3. Kia :- In February 2022. Kia also launched its Kia Carens (Rs. 11.29 Lakh) that has a seating capacity for 7 passengers. After that it launched an updated version of Seltos and Sonet In April.
4. Mahindra :- Mahindra launched the new-generation Scorpio-N in July. Mahindra also introduced the 130PS/230Nm XUV300 TurboSport in October.
5. Tata Motors:- Tata Motors introduced Nexon EV's variant and the Nexon Max, in May. Tata Motors in September launched its news Tiago EV with the updated and new versions.
6. Toyota :- The Japanese auto manufacturing company Toyota also launched popular models in India like Camry Hybrid, Hilux, Glanza facelift, Fortuner GR-S, and Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The new Urban Cruiser Hyryder has been nominated for the 2023 Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) awards. Recently Toyota launched its Innova Hycross new generation in the Indian Auto market.
7. Volkswagen :- German auto giant Volkswagen has launched its top cars starting from the The Polo Legend edition, Virtus, and Tiguan Exclusive Edition. The Virtus, which arrived in June, has also been nominated for 2023 ICOTY.
8. Jeep :- American SUV maker Jeep introduced several cars in the market this year. First, It's the Jeep Compass Trailhawk in February. The Compass also gained two special-edition variants - Night Eagle and Anniversary Edition. The Meridian arrived in May and recently launched its new-generation Grand Cherokee in September.
